Hotel and Atlantis Excursion?

Can anyone recommend a good hotel need the port to over night. What time should we get to the port and can we get in line to check in and board.

Also is the day Atlantis worth it. Don't need the pools as my guys are very young and less than 48 inches but what about the acquariums and beaches? Does anyone know if I took a taxi and still had beach and acquarium access how much it would run and then to throw in lunch too???

We did Atlantis on our own back in May. We took a cab over and it was $4 per person each way. You can take the ferry cheaper as a round trip, but then you have to walk about 2 blocks to Atlantis where the cab drops you off right at the door!

We got wristbands that gave us access to the Dig (the aquariams) and also let us walk around the grounds. Not sure what the cost for children would be or the age breaks.

As for lunch - I honestly suggest going back to the ship. We got off the ship right away and got to Atlantis by 10 am, we were done walking around by 12:30. We stopped for a drink at one of the stands at Atlantis and a can of coke was $2.50. That was enough to convince us to go back to the ship. The buffet that afternoon was the American buffet and had wonderful hand carved roast turkey! I was very glad we went back to the ship.

There was still time that we could have spent the afternoon shopping in Nassau, but having been there a few years before we had no interest so spent the rest of the day on board.
