Can you order just hot water from room service. I have read before you could get a pot of coffee sent to your room. Would they send just a pot of hot water? We are planning on bringing the Folger single coffee packets. Have read to many horrer stories about the coffee on board. I am a person who has to have coffee in the morning or I will have a horrible headache all day.

I'm sure they would. But, after paying the tips, you'll be better off buying a coil warmer like I did. I got one at a local luggage/gadget store for around $10 a couple of years ago. It's a simple metal coil with power cord and a plastic handle/hook to hang off the side of a mug. You just fill the mug with water and plug the coil into a power outlet, and presto, you'll have a mug of hot water within a few of minutes...definitely faster and more convenient than room service.

The coffee on board is reg and decaf. If you use the Folger single packets there is no reason to bring them. My husband drinks Folger coffee here at home and he has no problem with the coffee on the ship. Now coffee snobs do not like the coffee but then those people wouldn't drink Folger coffee either. We tipped room service $2 when they brought a pot of coffee and $2 for my pot of hot water for tea. Kathy

This is OT for this thread, but.....Kathy.....I recently checked out your website and really enjoyed your photos. You have a very nice looking family. We will be doing DCL cruise #8 on the 5/17 Eastern. We have three teens DD19, DS18 and DD15. They all love the cruise!!! Still keep in touch with all the friends they have made over the course of 7 cruises. My son's friend who came with us on on our 1/4/03 Western cruise is even taking a girl he met from that cruise to the Prom!!! And my son who is starting college in Arizona in the fall made friends with a girl he met on the cruise who only lives 10 minutes away from ASU. Small world!!! It looks like your kids really enjoy the cruise as well!

very nice photo of family. We will have 3 teens with us in June ranging from 18-15 so I am glad to see that your son enjoyed it. Our son is 18 and also starting college in the fall and I was worried that there might not be too many his age on the ship. Did he go to Palo with you and did he like it. Of course, if he is like my son he'll enjoy wherever there is food!!!

Brian loves his food!!! But no, when we sailed in January he did not come to Palo with us. My DD19 has come with us a few times and loves it!!! Brian was too busy with his newly made friends.

Here he is with his favorite from Parrot Cay....Jerk spiced chicken wings!!! It got to the point where our server just brought him out a large try of them instead of regular sized portions!
