Is anyone a millionaire phanatic?

This is the one attraction I leave hubby in charge of the kids...

Does anybody know how the scoring works when they rank the audience responses?

I press my finger a million times a minute--the best I ever posted was #10 on the screen (my PhD step-mom who thinks millionaire is too simple--didn't post at all :)

Any tips from those who are phanatical--or who even made it to the hot seat?

When we played at Disneyland the 12 year old girl that was in front of us made it to the hot seat. Her family had a strategy. Each of them punched in a difference sequence and never looked at the questions. There were 4 or 5 in their party so they had that many different sequences. It worked for them!

I made it to the hot seat (Easter 2004)... I had a plan, after reading the question, and wasnt sure how to put the answer in order, I would just pick c-d-a-b... well it worked.. i did it in 1.4 seconds.. my wife was with me, she couldnt believe I did it that fast.. she thought I was really smart for about 10 minutes..lol
until I got back and told her how I won.. I got to the 16,000 dollar question and stopped.. It was a great experence.. wish I would have thought about the questions longer.. could have maybe had a free cruise.. (yeah right)

Thanks for the tip--anybody else?

My daugther's are 3 and 1--so hubby's hands are full to try the all-on fast finger random method.

Sorry, no tips...but when we were there last week we played 2x. One day there was a 9yo girl from canada whose first language was French and she just guessed her way into the hot seat! :) She managed to win a cap. (since she was under 12 her Mom was allowed to come down and help her. The host didn't know what to do when she asked if it could be converted to french, it couldn't, but they managed just fine.)

I just love that game, but I NEVER want to be in the hot seat! Instead, I want to hang out on Mickey avenue to be part of phone a stranger! :)

Good luck!

I was fortunate enough to appear on the actual show (back when Regis was hosting) and was curious if there were any stipulations on whether I could take part in the game. I know that CMs aren't eligible, nor are people who had recently been in the hot seat, but what about participants in the tv show? We'll be heading down in January 2005 for the first time since WWTBAM opened down there.

Since I'm guessing someone will probably ask, I was on in April of 2001...the same show that Kevin Olmstead started on (he went on to win $2.18 million the next episode). I made it to the hot seat and walked with $16K and will never live down the fact that I never read Oliver Twist (the 32K question was on that novel...I chickened out and walked) :o

Thanks in advance to anyone who may know the answer.

Chris

To my knowledge--when they give the eligibility requirements--that one is left out.

The rules are posted and you can check with a CM when you get there to disclose this tidbit.

I don't think being on the show would exclude you since it wasn't within the previous year of you going there.

(I haven't read Oliver Twist either).

I have been fortunate enough to be in the hotseat twice. I would just read the questions as fast as possible, then put in the answer as soon as i could when they were put up on the screen. dont wait for them to read all the answers to put in yours, put it in as fast as you can. The first time, i got to 16,000 points, then lost. I got the hat, lanyard and pins. The next year, i made it in on the first time to see WWTBAM on the fastest finger and made it to 32,000 points, so i got the hat, lanyard, pins and shirt. I hope to make it again this year, but who knows!!

DH and I have only been once but I posted #4 on the screen so I am going to try again this year! I put in my answer before they read them all too.

My DD got into the hotseat when she was 12 by pushing random numbers on the fastest finger question. She only made it to 500 points however. I've gotten there twice by pushing the answer as soon as I see the right one, repeatedly pushing the button until it lights up. I have two shirts (really want to try for the cruise!) If you know the answer and it doesn't appear as A, B, or C, start pushing D immediately!
