Hot! Hot! Hot!

Heading down to the MAGIC the last week in June. So how hot is it during that time? We've been to Texas last summer where it was 104 degrees everyday!

Temperature wise it won't be quite that hot,probably in the low to mid 90's however when you add on the humidity in Florida it will probably feel just as hot as that 104 in Texas and you'll probably sweat more too.

Heading down to the MAGIC the last week in June. So how hot is it during that time? We've been to Texas last summer where it was 104 degrees everyday!

It will definitely not be good old New England early summer weather!
Based on our late June/early July Orlando trips, expect temperatures in the 90s (it can get up to the high 90s), high humidity and afternoon thunderstorms that can include very heavy rain.

It will be hot, but this is Florida we are hot most of the year. It will most likely be in the 90's during the day & at night in the 80's. There might or might not be daily thunder showers. Some years the heavy showers aren't everyday in early June, some years they are. I will say that early June is better than late June and much better than August.. not that you asked about August, just giving you a comparison. I live in South Fl and am use to the hot weather, so what I think is ok, you may not. Early June is not that bad. There will be less crowds and that alone makes it feel cooler

So our plans have changed. We're now going in mid August. Oh boy! I can only imagine how hot is going to be. They only good thing is that we enjoy the hot weather!

I'm a native Texan who lived there most of my life (Dallas) and now live in Florida. We don't get the extreme high temps that Texas can get (Famous Heat Wave of 1980 - 113 degrees for days and days!) but we do have a lot of humidity. I would compare it to Houston. Mid to high 90's, with frequent quick thunderstorms in the afternoon/early evening. Be prepared for the humidity to ratchet up a notch after the rain.

We like to carry the little spray fan water bottles with us to keep ourselves cool. There are also places around the parks that have misters - take advantage of them.

In August you also run the risk of hurricanes, but don't stress about it. We have been through several and even went through one while we were staying at CBR. Disney is EXTREMELY organized and prepares for these situations. They handled everything beautifully and we were very impressed.

Take advantage of your resort pool and the water parks. Have indoor attractions mapped out so you can get to them quickly when the thunderstorms pop up.

And most of all...have fun!!!

We are from the northeast and have gone in mid August several times. I hate hot humid weather! We were fine and loved it and wouldn't hesitate to go back again at that time of year. We have done free dining and just make sure we stay out of the parks during the hottest time of the day.

You'll have a blast! Just have plenty of water, make sure you dress in cool clothes and take lots of breaks! We usually stay at a monorail resort so we can take a break during the day at the pools and not have a major trip back and forth to the hotel at this time of year.

Disney has plenty of cool spots while waiting for and inside the attractions, restaurants and hotels.

It was 102 when we went in both June and August last summer. June was less humid that August though. We were swimming at midnight and you could just cut through the humidity in August.

As a lifelong southerner, the humidity is what kills you. I would be prepared for major heat, afternoon breaks in the pool, an occasional shower, and invest in some misty fans.

The humidity can be unbearable. We stayed at the Poly the last week in June and the pool water was so warm that we couldn't even go in (the kids did anyway). I just remember sitting under an umbrella by the pool with my husband wishing we could go home! I live for Disney, so that was a real bad moment. I guess it all depends on how you can personally tolerate the heat & humidity.

We love Texas. We've been to San Antonio a few times. It was hot, but we love the heat. Nice state and very friendly people. And they have the best steak in the US down in Texas! I wouldn't mind relocating to Texas after we retire. I would love to get out of the Northeast from the cold and snow!

We're planning to stay at an off site location that's very close to the park. This way we can travel back and forth if needed. Also being from the Northeast, we're use to the humidity. Plenty of shade, AC, and cold water!

Heat can be difficult if you over do it. Be reasonable and pay attention to how you feel. Heat Stroke is no fun.

The good news is: usually by mid-August the heat is actually better than mid-July!

We've gone later in August a few times, and it is hot, but we've had better days and worse. The rain storms that can pop up all of a sudden are actually fine for us; we just duck in somewhere and quack like ducks (joke, in line one time folks were grumbling about the rain, so to get my kids positive we all started quacking). A good attitude helps.

We love Epcot, as the kids can enjoy the indoor pavillions for hours. MK and DAK seem the hottest to us, so we try to do what we can in a short amount of time.

I like umbrellas instead of ponchos - with a poncho when the rain stops, you're like in a sauna. If you forget an umbrella, they usually have them behind the counters, and they have Mickey on them! Good souvenir!

I grew up in St. Louis, and August can be unbearable, so Orlando wasn't too bad to me in August! Plus, we can get killer airfare from BWI late summer, so for a cheap vacation it's worth it to me.

We've been to Florida in June (around the 20th) and August (around the 15th). Yup, it's hot. Lightweight clothes, lots of water, lots of AC breaks. I think I was actually more uncomfortable in Virginia in August than I was in Florida, because in Florida there are lots of places at theme parks to get out of the heat, but in Busch Gardens and King's Dominion everything is outside. Someday I'd LOVE to go to Florida in April or the fall, but as a teacher I have to work with school schedules.

We've ALWAYS gone the last week in June through the 4th of July.....Hot, Humid, sometimes Unbearable...but everything is air-conditioned if you need a break. Just remember to take your time, go to the parks early morning or late in the day...you will survive. And just remember..
.."A hot, humid day in Disney is beats a cool day elsewhere!"

I have been to Disney several times, but last year was our first June trip. Wow. It was hot. We went to the parks in the mornings and then by noon we would head to the water parks. The heat was, at times, unbearable.

All that being said, I would still go in June (or August) if that were the only time I could go. It was still a fun trip.
