This is the park Zack wanted to be in for his birthday. I cant blame him, ToT, RNRC, the refurbed Star Tours. Good place to be on your 14th birthday.

Or any birthday.
Grandma is ok with this park so she is with us today. We actually made it to the park before it opened. Woot Woot!
And there was great rejoicing.
Upon entering I collect the tickets and Grandma,
I think this is a good policy. Whenever you go to Disney... heck any ticketed event... Don't forget to collect your tickets and Grandmas.
I take this picture and wonder where everyone is.
Probably picking up their Grandmas.
Just as we get to be next a nice CM asked if we wouldnt mind waiting while a Make A Wish family gets some time with the characters.
No problem go right ahead and I give Maddy an extra hug and a squeeze. A little prayer later for the nice family and their kids and its our turn.
I think that's one of those times where you don't have a problem saying, "Take as much time as you need."
we headed over to Voyage of the Little Mermaid. I am real excited to see what Maddy thinks of this. I love this performance especially with the puppetry.
I think she remembers the bubbles.
Next stop Playhouse Disney and we get the front row.
It's been 6 1/2 years since we did those, but... I don't remember bubbles in Little Mermaid, but I
do remember them in Playhouse Disney. Am I wrong? Or maybe things have changed.
This is her first trip that she will remember, so watching her face is my high this trip.
What a great shot! Love it.
Who knew you could get a PHD at Disney?
At one time Maddy freaked when any of them came near us.
I remember that stage with my youngest.
Probably my best Disney memory of all time. I've told this story before and I don't care, I'm telling it again.
DD4 (at the time) wasn't really interested in the non-face characters. DD8 wasn't interested either. We were in DHS, walking by the lines for Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, etc. All of sudden, DD4 tells me she wants to see Pooh.
What? This is new. Uh, okay.
So we get in line. After a bit it's our turn and she shocked me by running up to Pooh and giving him a big hug. DD4 is
not demonstrative and this really caught me off guard. After a minute or two I start to get a little uncomfortable because there's a line of kids waiting to see Pooh. I go up to tell DD4 she has to let go... and Pooh waves me away. I don't know how long they hugged, but it was quite a long time. I'd never seen DD4 hug for even a fraction of that time. It chokes me up to this day. Here's a pic.
One time at 1900 Park Fare Lady Trumaine came up to us and Maddy screamed at her to GO AWAY! LT folded her arms and told Tim and I that we needed to do a better job at teaching our child good manners.
Awww... poor Maddy. And yet... funny, too.
Maddy was unsure about the Alien part and buried her head in my shoulder but soon enough she was bouncing along to follow the yellow brick road.
Finally, a kid who's actually behaving like they're supposed to! It seems that a lot of the kids that go through that don't know that they're supposed to be scared!
The ride was awesome and Matt beat us all. So I was quietly seething and took our passes and fast passed it again.

I can just see you, "Oh, it's
on!"
Your mom is riding her
scooter on the left side and the CM at the turnstile is yelling at her, Maam this way to the right and hes holding the chain open for her scooter to go through with the handicapped sign. Hes yelling louder, Maam your scooter has to go this way. And your mom says, No I can make it, and she floors it and jams her scooter in the turnstile. They cant get it out and they called maintenance to come and take it apart to remove it.
Wow. "Tonight at 6. Headline news. Little old lady destroys Disney World with Demolition Derby Scooter. No longer the Most Magical Place on Earth, now simply No Place on Earth."
I told him that the first CM told us strollers and wheelchairs to the left. I even asked over my shoulder, scooters too and he answered yes. But what the CM failed to do is ask if she could get out of her chair.
That just sounds strange. "So you need a scooter. So I assume that means you can walk, right?"
or
"Right over here to the left, Mr. Hawking. Oh! You got stuck! I thought you could get out of your chair."
Another issue is people have no respect for those with scooters and cut her off and dont allow her to merge when she has to. She probably just panicked and thought if I floor it, it will fit.
I've seen a few people drive their cars that way.
Tim said she jerked so hard when it got stuck he thought she was flying off of it.
He also said she tore up the arm pads on the scooter. I wondered if we were gonna get a bill to replace the turnstile. How much do turnstiles cost?
When your Momma sets out to do something, she doesn't mess around!
My boys came back fighting back the giggles, you know the kind.
Uncontrollably shaking and beat red and tears, yes, those kind.
Yup. Make sure you tell all their friends at school that they had "the giggles". That should help cement their coolness status.
They love their Grandmother very much. I bet they were wishing they videoed it for their facebook accounts.
D'oh!
The show was cute and the girls loved it. When we left I couldnt help notice a CM watching over us. I bet he was told make sure that lady on the scooter leaves in the right direction.
"Keep an eye on Demo girl, there."
We would order the kitchen sink and that would be our dinner. Since Matt cant have that stuff he could get a burger and fries, everyone is happy.
At least that is what I thought.
The best laid plans of Mice and Men.
I love the way they decorate for Christmas and the lobby felt naked without seeing the chocolate carousel in the middle.
I didn't know it was going to be
that kind of Tr. What with naked lobbies flaunting their middles.
I smiled at the improperly trained podium man as we walked by. We were given this tiny table and the improperly trained podium man smiled at me as he walked by.
We ordered the kitchen sink and Malorie wanted to order dinner. I explained to her ice cream was for dinner and she freaked. She didnt want ice cream for dinner she wanted real food. I told her no, and that was that. She would eat ice cream for dinner and that was final!
OMG! I have this visual in my head of a little girl crying because she has to finish her ice cream before she can dig into her bowl of spinach.
She pouted and the tears started flowing. Seriously. Are you kidding me?
How evil! Forcing your children to eat ice cream for dinner! Next you'll want them to go on rides and watch fireworks. The
horror!
Grandma gave in and ordered her a burger. Then after her burger she expected to eat ice cream. At home I would have sent her to her room, but at Disney, she got to enjoy some ice cream.
Disney, the great mellow mood equalizer.
I dont think 5 of us even ate half of it. It was good and another thing I can say I did at WDW.
Good for you!

I hope to do that too, some day.
We go through the fast pass line and the running joke now is, Grandma stay left.

At least you could see the lighter side of it.
We get to the first round of shooting and my gun putters out.
Oh, no! Denied!
When the ride was over I told the CMs about the darn gun being broke and they offered me to ride again, but I didnt see the kids so I thanked them but that wouldnt be necessary. I really wanted to, but not without my kids.
Too bad. I'm betting the kids didn't believe you when you said you lost because your gun was broken?
So, now my thinking is, I beat him next time. I love that kind of thinking, dont you?
Sure, that works... except if you and I were to go head to head, who'd win the next time? Or the next? Or... infinity plus one!
It was a great day! We spent an entire day in a park, a park we really enjoy. Mal is officially a big girl and rides everything her brothers ride.
That's good. It's such a great park.
They kept the sign up for about 48 hours. It flashed the message and I wonder who it was more for. Us? Or the fruit stealers?
Probably the latter. Thanks for the chapter!
