We're hot cocoa snobs. We've ordered it all over the world and love experiencing all the different types... Except packets. When we ordered hot cooca from room service at the Contemporary resort we got hot water and two packs of powder. :( What can we expect at MVMCP? More powder/mix packets just on a larger scale? We'll be at all the parks, do any have hot cocoa that's better? We're happy with cocoa/sugar/milk or even warm chocolate milk, just not from a packet mix.

Well, I can speak to MVMCP- they are feeding tens of thousands of people with that hot chocolate...it’s 100% a powder mix. I’ve had it in the past and there is no doubt they are going for the kind that is the easiest to make in large quantities.

Godiva used to have hot chocolate packets for a coffee maker used in offices, etc. I ordered a big box from Amazon last year and just cut open the packets since I didn’t have that type of coffeemaker at home. Really good
I have also ordered the hot chocolate freshly made in Ghirardelli Disney Springs location and they served it with melted marshmallow fluff dribbling over edge and then topped with their whipping cream. It was picture perfect and taste was delightful . And believe me when I say Ghirdelli knows whipping cream!

Norway Bakery in World Showcase gave us hot cocoa (no packets) and asked if we wanted whipped cream on top. It came from a redi-whip looking canister so not freshly made, but I still really enjoyed it.
I'm trying to remember what brand packets we were given in the parks - I think it was Carnation? Not all QS give out the packets with hot water, but I can't remember which ones did that and which ones give you hot cocoa already made. I just assumed it was all the same brand anyway, unless you're getting it from someplace like Starbucks or Ghiradelli.

Now that I think about it, if you're there now epcot may have some options for you if you're interested in trying chocolate drinks. For F&W Festival, the Ghiradelli Chocolate Experience (located inside The Land pavilion) has Drinking Chocolate and the Chocolate Studio has some sort of liquid nitro chocolate drink with alcohol. I've never had either of these so not idea what they taste like!

Mass produced for thousands and given away free
All you need to know

Had the "hot" cocoa at MVMCP also. It's definitely from a powder mix and it was barely warm.

The hot chocolate that I had at our local Starbucks was horrible and grainy, like water and powder. Maybe they have different ways of making it at different locations.

Oh, yuck! No wonder you wouldn't recommend it! At the Starbucks near us, they make it with milk and it's really good!

OP, honestly, this is why I don't eat any of the free snacks at MVMCP. The hot chocolate is like brown water and I find the cookies and snacks to be very bland.

I agree on this. My expectations were low and so not disappointed. The best cookie though was when I first came in the park. They guided me to the right side to an "alley" behind Main St. and I got a big Mickey Head cookie that was either shortbread or snickerdoodle. It didn't say (was in a plain plastic wrap). It was surprisingly good. The eggnog at Diamond Horseshoe was also "tolerable." It could have been far worse but whatever brand/carton it was poured from, it wasn't too bad. I've had much worse.

The rest of the packaged cookies bordered on "kind of yucky" to me and the hot chocolate was bad.

Usually coffee joints (like Starbucks) make hot chocolate with steamed milk and syrup, not powder. The syrups for the coffees can be used to make the hot chocolate too.
