Hot Cocoa for Those with Nut Allergies?

Does anyone know if the hot cocoa served at the CS locations in Disneyland and DCA is safe for those with nut allergies? My sister is in DL right now where she says she is very chilly, and is wondering if she should bother seeking out some hot chocolate later tonight (she will of course also ask the CM when ordering). She is allergic to peanuts and tree nuts.

Sit down restaurants have chefs who can help you. Bakeries have the list of ingredients but do watch out for cross contamination. I do not know if they reuse the chocolate use to make stuff. You can ask for a new container and scoop for the ice cream which is Edy's/Dryer's. I do not trust the servers as I seen them banging or scraping hot fudge ladles on the waffle cones which I cannot eat at all, gluten. Chris should respond and there may or may not be a list of nut free stuff. THIS IS NOT WDW. Do not expect them to bend over backwards to help you like WDW and you will find stupid things like using wheat to thicken pico de gallo, OMG, who would do that.

Staff does try hard to please and make sure guests are safe. If you have any questions feel free to ask and if need be I may be in parks next week. I do research for guests of disboards sometimes. I have only had one scary reaction and it was to coconut sorbet at Yamabuki. I have had mild soy/dairy reactions which are normal like after eating cheddarburgers but nothing like that sorbet. CMs are really nice and do make things special but do stand you ground. I know this to be true and the CM says no so I had the chef come out and say I was right.

Hi, if you tell her to go to city hall, they will give her a list of all the menu items at the cafes and restaurants suitable for Nut allergies.

My DH has a wheat & gluten free diet and other members have suggested that this is what we do as soon as we arrive, then we can holiday with the knowledge that whatever he eats will be safe.

It's probably just some packaged Nestle stuff, so I'm sure they'll have the bag right there to check ingredients. I'd probably order from one of the more stand-alone type places (not the bakery, for instance) to reduce the possible other things the mix has come into contact with.

But we don't get the cocoa...we'll just get coffee if we're cold (and DS just has to huddle up).

I did get the gluten free list but they did not have a soy free list. I am also no egg, dairy and chocolate but only soy causes problems that are unbearable and even dangerous beside of course the wheat.

If you have any questions about gluten free DLR I am on a mission to eat around the parks to see how they handle GF meals. Ketchup is the answer to anything, lol. I loved the rice noodles but please butter, sauce, somethng.

The Hot Chocolate served at the DLR is indeed Nestle Powder, combined with hot water in special Hot Chocolate machines from that company.

I can't remember if it's Nut-safe though, I've never heard of Hot Chocolate powder being made with nuts in it, but it might be made in a factory that also handles nuts. Please do check with a Disneyland Resort Restaurant Host or Hostess when purchasing it, and they'll be able to assist you.

The Hot Chocolate does come with the usual disclaimer that the powder was made in a factory that also handles nuts, at least this is what I was told when I asked.

I do have a nut allergy and was okay with it, but I am fully aware I may just have been lucky there.

To be certain to avoid any cross contamination you can always bring your own hot cocoa in and ask for hot water to mix up your own too.....
