Hot Chocolate Without Milk?

My DD called me this evening and asked if I had a recipe for Hot Cocoa mix that did not have powdered creamer or powdered milk in it. She said she used to have a recipe off a container of Hershey's (baking) cocoa and she thought it did not have the powdered milk ingredients but she could find the recipe. I searched online but could not find one. Is there such a recipe?

Does it have regular milk in it, just not the powdered kind?

There is a recipe on the Hersheys cocoa powder that uses regular milk.

If she's looking for a hot chocolate that has no milk at all, it sounds like the hot chocolate they drink in Europe. They detest "milk chocolate." It's an American invention.

I think she is looking for a recipe that has no powdered milk product in the mix. Then, it is measured out and added to hot milk in the mug. I have never heard of such a recipe but she insists they used to put it on the Hershey's packaging.

These are the recipes on my Hershey's Cocoa powder container:

Favorite Hot Chocolate:
Top of stove 6 servings

1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup Hershey's cocoa
1/3 cup hot water
4 cups milk
Dash salt
3/4 tsp. vanilla extract

1) Mix sugar, cocoa & salt in saucepan; stir in water.
2) Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture boils; boil & stir 2 minutes.
3) Stir in milk and heat. DO NOT BOIL.
4) Remove from heat; add vanilla.



"Perfectly Chocolate" Hot Chocolate:
Microwave single serving

2 Tbsp. sugar
2-3 tsp. Hershey's Cocoa
1 cup milk
Dash salt
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract

1) Mix sugar, cocoa & salt in large mug.
2) Heat milk in microwave on HIGH (100%) 1-1/2 minutes or until hot.
3) Gradually add milk to cocoa mixture; stir well. Stir in vanilla.
