Since approximately '99 I noticed those hot air baloons that fly over Disney at sunrise. Since next year will be our 30th anniversary, I thought it might be fun to take one. Are these Disney run or an outside firm? Anyone know of the wrbsite describing the particulars?

We did this at least 10 years ago, back when OKW was still known as The Disney Vacation Club Resort. I don;t think the company we used is still in business. They are outside companies that do the balloon rides, we got the number from one of the Vacation & Visitor Bureau guidebooks.

It was expensive, I think about $75 or $100 per person back then, I'm sure they've gone up over the years.

They picked us up at our resort and drove us to a nearby off-site launch site. We were in the air about an hour and landed near what looked like a sand or rock quarry. After landing we were served muffins and mimosas, as champagne is an tradition after a balloon flight. It was very enjoyable, be sure to bring you video camera.

Most flights will be early in the morning since that is when winds are calmest in the area, and they can be cancelled at anytime because of weather.

I think you can get a guidebook from www.floridakiss.com
