Hello All! :)
I just got back from 10 days of eating and drinking till my stomach couldn't take it anymore. I have lots of food pics but thought I would start with a PFTS since no one has posted pictures yet and some have been asking for them.
We did two PFTS this year. The 4th and the 11th and had a fantastic time at both. This was our 6th and 7th PFTS and thought the food was great this year and some standout wines to boot! We also met some great people, had some fantastic people with us and saw some celebrities like Rock Harper, Ming Tsai and Jay and Brenda ( They are the DIS version of BRADJOILINA :rotfl: ) ( Brenda meeting you and Jay was GREAT! I only wish we had more time between eating and port drinking)
Hope you all enjoy!

Here is a picture of the check in sign and Jason and I. Can you see how excited we are to get our drink and eat on?

They were very organized this year with the names and getting your "I can drink bracelet on". Then we went over to the 1st holding tank that it out side and next to the stage for Off Kilter. We were right up next to the doors and the crowd to get in became very large, very quickly. We found most people in this area present and happy. Everyone here as early as we were are usually looking to get a table from experience from years past when they were limited.( this has changed this year but more on that later) We don't get a table we are just very excited and love the whole event and don't mind talking with others and hearing what everyone is excited about.
At 6pm a couple cast members come to the door and ask you not to run them over - I mean step back and proceed to get your glass, plate and booklet. You then go into a second holding tank - area for about 15 minutes.

The glasses are a bit smaller this year with the logo on the cover of the booklet. They are nice and in my opinion easier to handle. It's the same white plate with wine glass holder. We don't take one and find it easier to walk and eat with out it. Then they hand you a booklet ... or should I say a sad sorry ugly piece of paper with no real information.. :confused3 ! I remember the days gone by of the 7-10 page booklet on good paper stock with all the food and wine options you were about to experience. It was color coded so we could plan our food attack properly .. you know Lets start with some bubbly in the pink area and go on to blue for the duck that sounds amazing..
long gone are these days .. what they give you is a folded piece of paper that is grey and yellow with a list of chefs and wineries and no clue what they will be serving or how to find them! :sad2: This made us a bit nervous and sad. We thought with the beautiful art work this year they could have done so much more. I have scanned this for all to share in my grief!

This is the place people waiting to get in can get a little .... OVERLY EXCITED and feel the need to get as close to other people and the front as possible, even if others are already in this spot .. To all that are about to go my advise in here is stand back, hold on to your hats and glasses, and let the madness calm down. There is enough of every food item to have 10ths, enough wine to have you falling over every table and enough tables this year with the center stage gone to have seats never sat in! Yes, some desserts are gone by 8:30 and some wines are gone by 8 but that is still 2 1/2 hours to hit the BIG ONES!
This is a great event and besides the lack of brochure and over zealousness of the start my only complaint. We loved every glutton-ess moment!
I have to go for a bit but will have food pics when I return!

This was our Favorite Wine of the night
They were pouring the wine that won the Wine Spectator number 3 spot of the year. It was amazing! I guess it's the first wine from Chile to get in WS that high.

Great wine

I also drank a lot of Pommery BUT all the pics I look like I was enjoying it so I will spare you all!

This was Great! It also came from someone and someplace that is very special to me and my husband Commander's Palace in New Orleans! This made my night. Chef Tory gave me a tour of his kitchen on my 1st trip to New Orleans a few years ago and it was an amazing experience. To see him here and have his food was the best!

Sorry about how BIG that last one came out!

We had a large group and this was 1/2 of the groups favorite dish of the night!

This was another of my favorites of the night. I am not a turkey person but if this was Thanksgiving I would want it every day!

More pretty stuff hung around!

Both of these were good but other were better!

I love making comments like that .. like I could do! :rotfl2:
I feel like Ted Allen from Iron Chef .. "hmm Bobby Flay you put a little too much salt on that"!

I left this one BIG for a reason. This way you can see the whole room. From this angle you are standing at the front right side facing the back of the room. The green area is the stage that has some cirque type acts and music that also roams the room a bit. It wasn't intrusive like I personally thought the La Nuba was in the past. I am not just saying that in my "I don't like strange mime clown persona" I am saying that you were able to watch the entertainment if you like or not. Also without the stage being in the middle they added TONS of seating for people and we saw many tables both nights not being used!
