Host Trading-- 6/13

My mom just got finished with Host trading, and as of 9:45 or so (possibly earlier), Phinny is out of Pirates 1/5 pins. I repeat, she is out of Pirates 1/5 pins. Thought I'd post so no one wastes their time if that's all they wanted.

Only other pins Phinny mentioned having were zebra, toucan, and lion. Didn't say how many she had of those though. Gl all, and sorry if you couldn't get a pin. Seems like they "run out" earlier and earlier.

I was in the room too when she made the announcement that she was out of pins. Luckily I had already gotten a pin for me and one for my brother who was at work. I was in line with my extra character trying to get one for a friend who was away and could not be on to get one. Phinny announced that they only get 100 pins to give out and they go fast usually in the first hour was how she put it? My question is why if they know it only takes an hour to trade 100 pins do they make it a 3 hour event? Seems to me that creates the potential for 200 disappointed players.

I, too, was in line yesterday for the 1/5 pirate pin. Phinney announced that she was given only "on oh oh" 1/5 pins to trade, and they were gone. Hmmph! It's as simple as VMK is trying to control supply and demand, thus making this a rare pin, thus necessitating trading amongst players to get it or thousands logging on during the few times this pin is offered by staff, thus generating more interest/time spent in the game. Another carrot to dangle on a long stick in front of our noses!

The Pirates promotion is "big" for VMK, just as the Pirates 2 movie is "big" for Disney/Pixar. It's all a matter of marketing.

my friend got one by telling Hula (in her pirate party room) that she was really bad at sitting games and worried that she'd never get one. Hula just made one appear in her inventory.

Of course if everyone tried that, Hula might get irritated...

Wow. I didn't know the hosts could run out of pins for a scheduled event. That's not fair at all.

Wow i am happy i got there early, when it just opened.....Also a tester came in, he just said he was observing, no idea upon that
