Is anyone currently doing Hospitality or doing Hospitality this coming Fall? I would love to hear what a typical day is, average hours a week, anything else you care to share. Thanks

I participated in the CP program Fall Advantage 2004 and worked both front desk and conceirge at the Boardwalk. Typical hours are usually about 32 hours a week ... depending on occupancy. There is almost always overtime available, if you are looking for extra hours. I won't lie --- the CPs at most resorts get stuck with the crappy shifts, i.e. the ones that go late into the night. Once you put in your time, you will usually begin to get better shifts. Working in one of the resorts is probably one of the best positions you can get while on the program. You get the opportunity to learn much more about the parks, and the surrounding Orlando area, since you need to relay this info back to your guests. It also gives you a greater opportunity to make magical moments happen versus selling turkey legs at the parks. Just be prepared for some LONG days. Guests expect alot more staying in a Disney resort, and do not hesitate to tell you so. Depending on your attitude, it is extremely hard to get "yelled" at all day about problems. Take it all in stride and not personally. Ummmm ... not sure what else to say. It was an AMAZING experience! If you have more specific questions, don't hesitate to ask ....
