Hi Everyone

I just found out that my Grandmother who lives in St. Augustine is now in a hospital in Jacksonville on the St. Johns River. She is going to be there over the course of the weekend which means if Frances goes through that's where she'll be. I know that it is probably an ideal place to be in an emergency, but I'm wondering what they do with everyone in this situation? Is everyone moved to a central location, just to lower floors, etc?

She'll be a nervous wreck and I'm too far away to help. :(

Don't know the answer to your questions, but DH's elderly aunt was admitted to the hospital in Vero Beach for tests, expected to stay about 4 days. That means Saturday they might let her out??? Last thing she needs, with newly diagnosed congestive heart failure, is to be alone in her condo in the middle of a hurricane! I would like to think they would keep her for safety sake, but who knows? We're in New Hampshire and worried, and we couldn't get there before the storm regardless.

At least hospitals have backup electrical systems so lights, pumps, and such can run.

Of course I was so very wrong about Charley so take this with a bucket of salt. Jacksonville/St. Augustine gets hit rarely so your Nana is probably quite safe.
