We did this a few years ago and it was fun. My DH had never been on a horse before and he did fine. It's very slow and easy! :thumbsup2

I went with DH over NYE and we had a good time riding. :thumbsup2 They ask who has the most experience and then arrange you according to how much you have ridden. The horses are used to following each other, so there are no problems there.

Some of the horses are more spirited than others. Mine kept trying to get in front. :upsidedow They only put experienced riders on the more frisky horses, so don't worry if you haven't had much experience. The horses are also all neck reined, so you just hold both reins in one hand to steer.

We saw some deer (including a fawn) and some bunnies on the trail, and enjoyed the chance to get out for a ride. :goodvibes

My niece, nephew and daughter did it one trip. It's a very slow horse walk but they enjoyed it. They saw some deer as well and thought it was a lot of fun.

The three of us did it about 5 or 6 years ago. I've ridden before, dh never, and dd had been on 'pony rides' before. It is nose to tail, so to speak and very slow paced. The only issue came when the skies opened and the monsoon started. WE had to turn the horses around and head back....not an issue for me, but it was kind of funny to see those with no experience trying to turn their horses 180 degrees. I was lucky in that I was in front of my dd and her horse immediately followed my horse, and then dh's horse followed right along. I did have to wait while those in front of me got turned around.
The guides are terrific...very patient with everyone. They did try to match horses with riders according to any previous experience riding.

Well, at least we know WHERE it is now. I was worried it might be at the Grand Floridian or something. ;)

I've never done it, but it's something I've always wanted to do!

Good.

Good and slow, just the way I like it. If you do this , do it as early as possible, better chance of seeing wildlife. And by wildlife I am not talking about "morning after campers",,,I actually mean animals.:thumbsup2

I think it cost about $45.00 (give or take).
