The three of us did it about 5 or 6 years ago. I've ridden before, dh never, and dd had been on 'pony rides' before. It is nose to tail, so to speak and very slow paced. The only issue came when the skies opened and the monsoon started. WE had to turn the horses around and head back....not an issue for me, but it was kind of funny to see those with no experience trying to turn their horses 180 degrees. I was lucky in that I was in front of my dd and her horse immediately followed my horse, and then dh's horse followed right along. I did have to wait while those in front of me got turned around.
The guides are terrific...very patient with everyone. They did try to match horses with riders according to any previous experience riding.
