There has been some previous posts on this board regarding the Bayside Riding Stables in St Martin. The posts were very critical of the owner of the stable. I recently received this e-mail as a result of my post on the cruise-critic St Martin Board.
It appears that the stable as changed ownership.

I just got back yesterday and we went to this place three times for lessons and for a sunset ride on the beach.
They have lessons ($40 per hour group - $65 per hour private), one hour beach rides (around $50 depending on the time of day) and two hour beach rides where you can swim with the horse.
The woman who started the place has bought it back about three months ago. Supposedly the previous owner was not doing a good job.
Based on our experience it was very well run and nice.
We were total novices, but we learned to ride at a walk and to trot. The beach ride is mostly walking and does not require prior experience. It is also possible for an experienced ride to go solo.
Also, since you mention kids - we saw these two little girls getting their lesson and trotting and cantering all over the corral. The guide said that they come every week. I would imagine that Barnard who was giving the lesson is very good at giving lessons to children.
There is an animal shelter next door - please make a donation if you get over there.
