We are planning a ride during our stay in Cozumel. My sister and I are experienced riders but we have my 12 y/o daughter along. Anyone with info, please let me know what you think. Thanks!

Has anyone heard anything about horseback riding, good or bad? I would appriciate any info. Thanks.

Hey Ave! I saw your post and thought I would reply. My sis-in-law booked horseback riding for their family in Cozumel and no one showed up. She did not book through Disney. I am not sure who she booked through. When we were in Cozumel, we saw a couple places on our way to beach where you could go and ride horses. You may want to write my sis-in-law and find out who she tried to go through, so you don't make the same mistake they did. Her e-mail is callahanjulie10@aol.com. She too is a PCB gal! Good luck!

Thanks for giving me some important info.
Beth, I sent an e-mail to you SIL. Hope to avoid what must have been a big disappointment for her.
999 Do you happen to remember the Name of the place you went to? It sounds ideal.
Anyone with further info please respond.

We are also looking into horseback riding and would love to hear any more info. anyone has. How does pricing go? I believe if you go through Disney it is $89 a person, if u do it separately how does the price vary if it does and what are the names of the places to look for. Any info. would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to Aug 3rd.......... :)

Anyone have any more information? Please let us know. Good bad or indifferent. Thanks

I'll bump in hopes we get some more responses! I would love to do the horseback riding!

When i was on a Carnival Cruise last summer I did horseback riding along a beach in Jamaica. It was a blast, at the end of the ride we were on a beach, the wranglers or whoever you want to call the people who led us on the ride, took off the horses sadles and we rode bare back in the ocean. This was soo fun, the horses went out into the water untill it came up to the tops of their back so it was like you were just gliding along the top of the ocean it was sooooo fun. So it you do get a chance to ride, see if they have any rides that will take you into the water, it is something i will allways remember.

My daughter is an avid rider (just took 2nd in her class at camp!) and we looked into this on our last cruise. It is something we are definitely interested in for our next.

One thing we did find out is that riding in the Caribbean is a very upscale activitiy (most of their supplies have to be brought in by ship) and they ride ENGLISH. Not a problem for DD as she rides both. But she has suggested that Mom takes a couple of English lessons with her riding instructor. I've only ever ridden Western.

Interesting. Nicki's is on Grand Cayman right? We're looking at Cozumel, as everyone is thinking about Sting Ray City at Grand Cayman. So much to do...and I'd never have guessed anyone was doing western in the Caribbean. Just love how everyone helps out through these boards. THANKS!

Thanks Wavegirl!

I wrote them because I definitely want to do the horseback riding on the beach - always been a dream of mine!

Thanks for your input -

Rae
