The horses there are great with good personalities. It's a guided trail ride, and the horses are used to the trail so even if you have no experience it's an easy ride. Florida does get hot, and you will be going through the wilderness, so the most I can suggest is maybe a water bottle that clips onto your belt for the 45-minute ride, and maybe some bug repellent.
Yes, I would like to know how much this costs, too. Is it hard to get an early morning reservation and how far in advance do you need to call? I would like to get out before it gets too hot!
You have to be at least nine yrs old. I think it costs about $35-40/person. They leave out of the front parking lot at FW, not near the petting farm. Call 1-407-WDW-PLAY. They have set times when they go out and limit the number of people going.
Here is info from allearsnet on the horseback riding:
$42/person, must be at least 9 years old and 48 inches tall.
Also there is a weight limit of 250 lbs. (By the way another posting mentioned that there may be a minimum weight also but it is not listed on allearsnet.)
My wife and I are experienced riders but some of our kids are first-timers!
It cost us $42.00 a person and the age and weight limits (9 & 250 respectfully) are correct. We called right about 90 days and got a 10:00am time. Hopefully it won't be as hot!
Just got back last week and loved the riding experience. It was a bit tame for my DW and I (we've had our own horses before) but the kids had a blast! Thanks for all the help!
