Horse Saddle Help

Just got back from a horse show this afternoon (jumpers...fun!) and stopped in the on-property tack shop to see what they had. A REALLY nice used Crosby Equilibrium. In fantastic shape, broken in...Mmmmmmm. WITH all the fittings too. 18" (just right for my big booty).

$800.

Maybe I'll ask the shop owner if I can take it for a test run to see if it fits my Appendix.

Oh, that's an awesome deal. I've heard the Equilibriums are nice, hopefully it'll fit your Appendix! Is he/she more TB or more QH? My old Appendix was more TB looking and the Prix de World fit him just right. I think I've only found one horse that it didn't fit on, and he's a 17.2 TB with giant withers.

I don't know if this was asked already (I didn't read all the responses), but do you have any local tack shops around you? All the tack shops in my area let you put a deposit on the saddles and take a couple at a time to try both used and new on your horse.

I had a custom jumping saddle with the horse I had in high school because his back was impossible to find a saddle that fit it.

My dressage saddle is a County Competitor and I loooooove it.

I'm not a fan of Wintecs. Honestly though I would see what used saddles the tack shops have and just try them. I've never been one to buy one just based on brand.

I found a used Beval Princeton on their website for $450. I'm hoping this fits but if not we can return it in 1 week. Keeping my fingers crossed--thanks everyone for your help.
