I has the same experience with DVCRM when we were making offers for our first contract (which was in 2023 when it became very clear that ROFR wasn't taking *anything.*) The agent that our offer went through tried to explain to me that our offer for for SSR was far too low, there was no way it would pass ROFR if the owners accepted it (they even went so far as to explain what ROFR was!), and that I was highly unlikely to find anything near the price I was offering. And a week later we found what we were looking for elsewhere.I agree with rather dealing with Fidelitys occasional incompetence... when I was putting my SSR offers, someone from Www.dvcresalemarket.com called me all arrogant telling me I would never get the price i wanted without it being a stripped contract which was not true.
Just put in the offer or don't, i don't need unsolicited, incorrect advice or fake hand holding from a broker.

First contract sold in two weeks.
Received an offer for the second one at $6 less a few days ago. Nearly identical contract s. I countered 50% an agent from A VERY WELL RESALE COMPANY sent a message to me suggesting that I contact my agent to discuss the selling price. I thought that was odd because my contract happens to be the lowest selling price of the exact same resort and amounts of points.
I also told him that the agent was the one who recommended the selling price. It wasn't what I picked and it is well below the others.
He told me that the agent was advising me perhaps incorrectly since there are several other contracts available. There's between 5 and 10- again trying not to identify. And they are all more money/pt.
The guy is really off. He has a whole affect - a pretends he's a Disney character and it's very off-putting. I told him I found the characteration of his emails slightly threatening as if to imply that this very well-known resale company is not going to attempt to sell my contract. It was also odd how late in the evening he was sending me emails back and forth.
I asked if he called all the other owners of all the other contracts at the exact resort with the same options to see if they wanted to reduce their price by 15 or $20 since he was harassing me for $3.
I forwarded the entire email chain to my agent that works, of course, for the same company and advised him to send it to the appropriate folks in the chain of command and to let me know if he does not want to represent this contract because I have plenty of other choices - many of them charge far less commission.
Crickets.
Sellers be weary of your choice. I have the luxury of time to sell. It's a choice not a necessity. Many folks need their agent to do their job. Pick carefully.
I have no idea what caused him to do it. I was traveling for work and I received an email fairly late asking in a bizarre way starting with howdy partner, if I would accept an offer for $9 less than listing. I countered that I would accept an offer for $4 less than the listing since my listing was already the cheapest one.I’m sorry about that that happened to you what happened

They told me I had to list at the "sale" price, but then I got a call from one of the agents asking if I would take a different amount. lol

It's also very strange and off putting when a representative of the firm you are using to sell your contract is acting in the interests of potential buyers by trying to convince you to lower your price.Huh. Didn't know that. That seems like a very odd way to do things. Especially discussing the topic of price. And what kinda of sounds like one agent throwing another agent (at the same company) under the bus.
I have had 2 separate interactions with the potential character and both times were sleazy to say the least. Downright dishonest in one situation, enough so that when I called him on it, he immediately called me and apologized with a story of why it was a misunderstanding. That was the second interaction with them and because of that I have done 3 deals with other companies strictly out of concern for the lack of integrity.That was my guess too from the description. I've worked with him twice and he's been very reasonable and attentive. This does sound like odd and out of line behavior though. Disappointing.
Both of my contracts sold. I wish Karen had been the agent that had them. She called me with an offer that was too low because the person didn't realize they were 2057 points. In the meantime, the agent that had the listing had forgotten to pull it down because I had sold for what it was listed.I had a really bad experience selling with them as well. It was very strange. I know they are the big name in the business but I don't believe they feel they have an obligation to act in your best interests when you are selling with them.
