Horrible valet experience

I went Friday August 1st and decided to valet the car to beat the crowd in the garage. The valet was fine during the day when we first got there. We got the car back and left a 3pm to check in the Doubletree Universal. Came back and valeted the car around 5pm since I had already paid for the whole day. Everything was fine up until we were leaving the park for the night. We went to the valet window to give them my ticket. First incident was after about 25 minutes someone came up to me asking me what kind of car of car was I waiting for. 15 minutes later they came and asked me what color was the car that I had. Another 15 minutes they bring me the wrong car. 10 minutes after they brought me the wrong car to tell me they basically can't find my car and the wrong car they brought me was the last Scion tC in the garage. Another 10-15 minutes go by and still no car. They come up to me saying the tickets got switched and can't find the car at all. At this point I was so scared and worried that they gave my car to someone else. At any point I did not get an apology or reassurance that my car was ok. I was also all wet from Jurasic park so I was not happy waiting over an hour all wet. Me and my girlfriend also got sick from waiting so long in wet cloths. I'm an annual passholder so I go to Universal at least once a month when I can. I love going to Universal and never had a problem this bad. There should really be no excuse in why it took over an hour to get my car especially with no apology.

I know I'd be very frustrated if that happened.

Just a "fyi", you don't get sick from being in wet clothes, having wet hair, from cold weather, etc. You get sick from germs, bacteria, and viruses. I hope you both feel better soon!

OP sorry, that is most unacceptable wait for a valet. I'd have been scared silly.

Hope u asked to speak to management & took names...please write a letter of complaint detailing the incident. It's the only way that upper management will be able to evaluate & remedy the process.

Seriously, what Keisha said..

So I'm guessing you did get your car? Or did you take a Mercedes and call it a day?

Yeah security would of been called on me if this happend..
Good point tho nerdboy,as long asthe title was in the glovebox:lmao:
Deff take names and go over thier heads to get results.Thier is no excuse for rudiness, after paying the extra money for a service thats half***.....

Sent a letter to guest service. The biggest mistake was not getting names or speaking to a manager, the main reason I didn't was because I was freaking out so bad and pacing back and forth that I couldn't think if anything else.

Also does it really do any good to call or write a letter?

^yes it will be considered a negative report. it will go to that areas supervisor, who will then in turn figure out who it was that was dealing with the situation (if no names were given) and will then give those people a counseling.

But being wet lowers your body temperature making your immune system less reactive and your body more prone to those germs, bacteria, and the like ;)

But being wet lowers your body temperature ;)

Probably not a huge problem in Central Florida in August. :rotfl: Might even be healthy to have the body temp brought down a bit after a day in the sun.

I HATE heat! It was such a relief to go out for work this morning and find it a bit cooler. It's the first morning in a month or so that I haven't switched on the AC driving to work at 6AM.

I DO sympathize with the OP. I've read on other boards about valets bringing up the wrong rental car and the renters not even realizing it until they went to turn in the car. Bet that complicates things.

I had to tell them specifics of my car for example I have a Jacksonville Jagaur decal near the licence plate and a mini helmet on the antenna. I guess it just took them to look all over the place to find it. I wasn't even in the mood to complain when I got my car. We just wanted to go back to our hotel, shower, and sleep!

It doesn't make any sense when they can't find a car, at least you had some stuff that made your car easier to eventually find.

Have you seen the size of those lots? Sometimes I can't find my own car, let alone one I just had a description of. Clearly they screwed up by not designating the correct spot or whatever they're supposed to do to keep up with the location. Hopefully a well worded letter of complaint will give you some compensation that makes up for it.

Safe to say that there wasn't a tip left? ;)

I'm sorry you had to deal with that, I would have been furious too. ::yes::
