Horrible, horrible review of Raglan Road....UPDATE #62

I'm a bit appalled at the negative reviews of RR as we have eaten there many times and had outstanding experiences every time. We usually go right when i opens for a late lunch so it is generally pretty quiet. Our service has always been great and the food excellent. We'll be back there in three weeks so I'll report back on or next experience.

I will be calling Mr. Symcak tomorrow and am so grateful that he addressed my email and it concerns!:woohoo: I will basically say that my dining experiences on WDW property have been wonderful and suggest a "secret shopper" type of thing for Raglan Road.

Oh, and I NEVER heard a thing from RR.....I emailed them also.:sad2:

We just got back last night. We ate there three times in the past 11 days. Once for lunch and twice for dinner. We had excellent service and wonderful food all three times. I'll write a review later on my own thread and not hijack this thread but I'm sorry people are having bad service. It shows there is an issue that needs to be addressed!

UGH! I am appalled!!!!!!! I can't believe that manager spoke to a guest like that!! He should be fired in my opinion, his behavior is not very "magical", I would have done the same thing. At least you got a response and will get a chance for your experience to be heard! We had a similar experience at spoodles! Needless to say we will never go there again! :mad:
 
Raglan was one of our favorites as well. Last time we ate there we experienced the slow service. DH wants to give it another try, I do not feel the same way. What happened to you, though, TM2, WOAH nelly.
 
We ate there with friends on Saturday 1st December. The service was terrible, just like described in the first post. I don't know what was wrong, the server or back scene somewhere. We waited for everything, had to keep catching her eye. She kept apologising and saying she would be back, but then disappeared again. No extra tip (we were all on the DP)from any of us and we all are extra tippers. Oh, and we were all friendly happy smiling people - all the time!!!
 
Service was horrible, place was empty, Food was just nasty and nothing like what I had to eat when I lived in Ireland one year. Susan
 
All I can say is wow! I was there in June and although we did not dine at RR, we did stop and have cocktails. Nice way to see all the places in Epcot :rotfl:

What I did notice when I was there was how terribly filthy the place was. The floors were wet with spilled drinks and very slick. Dirty unbussed tables, and napkins that were tossed around and it made me feel like it was in a college dive bar where they spit on the floors.....The bathroom was even worse. Over flowed toilet, not a pretty sight or smell! Wet counter tops, no hand towels in sight. Maybe that is why it was so wet! People flinging their hand around to dry off! I just used my jeans! I did tell the bartender, but he was too busy and asked me to speak with the hostess. I did and she was annoyed that it had not been cleaned up and actually told me someone else had complained as well, an hour before me!:sad2:

Disney is a machine! They will eventually work it all out. Unfortunately it takes episodes, as in plural, to actually make it happen.
 
I had initially just subscribed to this thread to hear the updates from the OP. However, now that others are sharing their experiences from further back....

We dined at RR in Sept. (the 21st, I think). We had an ADR, but checked in an hour early because we were already in the area. They were very busy, but we still got seated in under 30 minutes.

Our server was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive, without hovering.

The food was fantastic--the best I've had at WDW & reasonably authentic.

We both used the bathrooms and thought they were among the best I've ever used in the US.

I'm sorry that so many people have had bad experiences, and, I hope that whatever's causing them gets corrected. But, I wanted to add my good experience to the mix so that people won't all be scared away.

We'll definitely be going back, and, I'll hope for a repeat of our earlier experience.
 
When you talk to them give them the adress of this thread. That should curl their hair.
 
Sorry you had such a terrible experience!

Since they aren't owned by WDW you may not get much satisfaction from them but sometimes when things aren't right you just need to vent it out and let people know.
 
we ate there on 12/9. We sat in the first booth to the right when you first walk in. We had 6 in our party. Our server was VERY friendly and talkative (he liked to chit chat with us). He was from the same state/area as we were so maybe that's why he was extra friendly with us. The food was good, not out of this world, but it wasn't bad. I just noticed that the menu was different than what is posted here on wdwinfo. The posh pan chicken that I wanted was no longer offered and I settled for fish/chips. Dessert was excellent. I had the bread pudding :thumbsup2, other family members had the Dunbrody kiss.
 
Sorry for taking so very long to update guys. I have had some Pm's asking for some updates and I do apologize for taking so long....

Anyway, I received a credit for one day of the DDP on my credit card. I did not expect ANY compensation and made that clear from the get-go. The "secret shopper" idea has been in the works, so maybe RR will straighten out.:)

Maybe, one day.....after peeking in the restaurant and making sure that buttwipe of a manager is not there, I'll try it again....I just don't know.
 
Heck I'd love to be a secret shopper/diner in restaurants. Free food and I get to tell everyone how I feel about everything!
 
I ate there last August with some friends and our food was fantastic and good service.
My friend just ate there recent again and mentioned she was surprised the food was not good in taste and not prepared correct. She said the service was "okay".
I told here RR is a hit or miss. It is very extreme. Everything is great. Or lacking in everything.
