Horrible Disney news.....

I had a friend in high school who was ruined in our community because a local girl accused him of raping her. The truth was, he wouldn't go out with her so she made up the story. Her family had some standing in the community and he was a nobody, so everyone believed her. Even after the truth aired, people talked. He ended up having to move away to get some peace :sad2:

I think you have to understand that No means no, but it's pretty hard for me to compare the trauma of vicious rape to changing your mind after you've gone too far. .

I think that it is important for you to understand that a date rape does NOT mean that is wasn't vicious or tramatic. One of my dearest friends was kissing a guy that she'd dated a few times. When she tried to cool it down, he violently and viciously raped and sodomized her. When someone you know becomes a stranger it is beyond terrifying.

I can imagine it's harder. It's one thing to be on guard while you go out in public. It's quite another to not be able to trust all intimate situations.

Can this girl who falsely accused them be held accoutable?
Under the laws of the State of Florida she could be charged with filing a false police report. I am not sure if there are any other provisions, other than civil "remedies".

I hope so. It really bothers me that she did this, that any woman would do this. Why? I feel sorry for those men, but at least one of them was clever enough to tape it. I hope they don't loose their jobs over this. I mean she should and more than likely will...

This really sets women back... :sad2:

Oh, I don't know if I'd go so far as using the word clever. That footage was probably headed for the internet.

We don't know, and we likely never will know, if the entire incident was taped or just enough to disprove the victims story (which is more likely).

We aslo don't know the extent that she knew she was being taped. In Michigan, taping without consent is itself a crime. The news piece said the victim would be charged and none of the original suspects would.

Honestly I had another adjective to use, but this is a family board. I agree, it probably was headed for the internet, or worse, home video!

According to the news last night there was no rape. Evidently one of the men had a video camera and taped the whole thing. She was not grabbed off the street/sidewalk whatever but was a willing participant. There will be no charges filed.

I'm glad I was in the wait and see crowd...not the lets linch the men now crowd.

Some may flame me for this but I hope that they experience the same fate in prison as this poor woman did in that motel. I also hope that the prison guards don't hear their cry for help either. 4 men????? Let them see how it is to be the victim for once and how horrible a crime like rape really is. Sorry if I offend some people here, but what they did to that poor woman is almost worse than murder. Unlike a dead person, she's going to have to deal with horrible crime forever. When you're dead at least your at peace. I hope she gets professional help to overcome this.

And how horrible this would have been for them be sent to prison and be subjected to this seeing that they were in fact innocent.

This reminds me of a local case in which a boy's life was ruined and was sent to prison before federal courts ruled that he was not given a fair trial because key evidence was not permitted by the judge at the time.

I thought of Nathaniel Lewis when I first read the Disney "rape" story.

I'm glad this update was posted. I had not seen the news earlier today, and just heard it on the 11:00 news.

Quite a turn around of events, and the "accuser' is now arrested!

The above statement shows the pure prejudice against males in a rape case.

The girl is not the victim, she is the criminal.
The men are the victims. :smokin:

Interesting how this all turned out.
