Hopping to MK?

We will be making a quick trip to WDW later in March. We are visiting DD in college in Tampa and plan to drive over for the day on Thursday, March 27th. Since we have always stayed on site and won't be this time, I know we have several things against us with the new FP system, parking, etc. MK has EMH that morning and I want no part of that. We plan to go to Epcot for the day, but I wash hoping maybe we could go to MK later in the day/evening to hit a few of our favorites. Since we won't be able to use FP, what are the chances of riding things like Splash Mountain and MTMRR without waiting more than 30minutes or so? Our other must-sees would be POTC, HM, COP, Buzz, and Mickey's Philarmagic. I was thinking we might have a chance during the parades? It is an "8" day on the crowd calendar. What do you think?

I'd say the chances of those two with no more than a 30 min wait are dicey. For whatever reason, a.m. emh parks just tend to get busier as the day goes on. Onsite guests see it as a perk even if they don't use it and still tend to go to that park that day. The data on when FP+ run out for the day is not very reliable, but you might still be able to do FP+ at the kiosk when you get to MK.

You know, if you go into it knowing you might not get to ride, but doing your best to do so, you'll still have a GREAT time.

I would go to Epcot without using FP and then set up FP for MK attractions when you get there in the afternoon. (It's been posted that many headliners still have plenty of FP available late in the day).

OP is an off-site guest, so they can only do it day of and I THINK (but am not sure), they have to be IN the park where they want FP+. I don't think you can do FP for MK at EP kiosk. And, at the moment, they also can't use smartphone to do it.

What I don't know for sure is whether FP+ are "selling out" during the day the way FP- used to do at some headliners.
