Hopping from Epcot to Hollywood Studios

'If' the boat is either at the dock, boarding guests, or is coming into view, the entire trip to DHS will be about 25 mins. The time is 25 mins from Epcot to DHS..dock to dock. BUT...if the boat is pulling away, it could well be 20 mins before another one arrives. But there may be one coming around the bend...you just have to look.
The walk will take about 20 mins. Walk up the hill, go to the left, over the bridge, and onto the boardwalk. I normally cut through the Village Green area, to the left and across from the dock at BW, but then you have to go through the pool area, which could be tough with a double stroller. It can be done by using the walkways over to the far left of the pool.
If you choose to avoid the pool area, just walk all the way to the end of the boardwalk area, then go left and go behind the BWVs. There will be signage there showing you the start of the walkway to DHS. It runs behind BWVs, with the canal on your right. It is a very pleasant, flat walk.

If you decide to walk, make sure you cross one of the bridges to the Boardwalk side - either at the Beach Club or at the Swan/Dolphin. 20 minutes to walk from International Gateway to the security station at HS is quite optimistic, especially with a double stroller during Thanksgiving week. I would say it could be double that.

Nahh. Tops its taken us was 25 minutes. unless the kids are out of the stroller.

You can take the bus or take the boat. The boat is kind of slow, but relaxing and interesting. Personally, I'd take the boat. You have to fold up the stroller either way! Only downfall is if you get in line late, you might not be able to get seats as the boat fills up quick because it's smaller.

You may not have to fold the stroller. We didn't have to fold our stroller when we took the boat from DHS to the Swan. I asked & the captain said, "No need to fold it. Just park it along the wall inside." There's an area there for wheelchairs but no one on that boat had one so they used it for strollers. Another family parked their double stroller along the other wall.

The boat can be relaxing after a few hours of dealing with crowds. Yes, it takes a bit longer, but it's a nice break. Besides, what kid doesn't like a boat ride?

Just beware of this: one year we park hopped from studios to epcot to see illuminations. We asked the captain when the last boat was and we definitely got back to the dock in time. However, we were told that we missed the last boat. There were two other groups of people in the same situation as us so the boat that was there said they would take us back to studios as a favor. I was so worried because our car was at studios. So anyway, I always do this in the daytime. Just wanted to give a heads up for anyone going around closing time.

I'm assuming it was because DHS was closed. Also the captain that said when the last boat was either doesn't work at closing or may not have understood that you wanted to get back to DHS.

If DHS is closed they must stop going to that dock. Even if they didn't take you back to Dhs they would have gotten you close.

If your out of shape at all, take the boat! I mean, you are already walking 7-12 miles per day. Plus, I think it's more like 1 1/2 miles from gate to gate.

So right! We'll be doing enough walking. But heck, give me a boat ride anyday. Husband usually has to stop every ten minutes when we go to the local zoo, so we'll be doing a lot of boat riding. He's insisting on staying at the Contemporary so he can take the monorail, even to the Magic Kingdom!

I walk fast and do the walk in 20 minutes so I can see people taking closer to 30 minutes.Another thing is to make sure you follow the pink line in Robo's map,you will see that there is a shortcut through the Luna Park pool and the hallway with the bathrooms and gameroom, going through this hallway and the pool will keep you from having to walk around the entire Boardwalk. Also I would also agree to not do the walk when it's very hot as it can wear you out, you're already walking a lot in the parks and a mile plus walk in the hot sun will do that.If you want to take a 30 minute break for a brew at the Big River Grille then you're good to go to walk the whole way.

Now, that's a great idea. If not the brew stop, how about a sweet at the Boardwalk Bakery? Would that be on the way, too?
