What is the best way to go from Epcot to HS? If it makes a difference we will have two kids in a double stroller with us and it will be during Thanksgiving week. TIA

Leave Epcot out the International Gateway and its either a 20 minute walk or a 20+ boat ride.

You can walk it I'm sure someone will be able to give you a map. Takes about 20mins I believe.

The boat is a nice ride and takes you from the international gateway to the front of DHS.

I like the boat but its not the fastest trip. We have never walked it always been to hot when we have gone to want to do all that extra walking.

You can take the bus or take the boat. The boat is kind of slow, but relaxing and interesting. Personally, I'd take the boat. You have to fold up the stroller either way! Only downfall is if you get in line late, you might not be able to get seats as the boat fills up quick because it's smaller.

If you decide to walk, make sure you cross one of the bridges to the Boardwalk side - either at the Beach Club or at the Swan/Dolphin. 20 minutes to walk from International Gateway to the security station at HS is quite optimistic, especially with a double stroller during Thanksgiving week. I would say it could be double that.

Seeing as how you spend time walking in the parks....take a well deserved and nice break and take the boat. It might take just a few minutes longer, but it is nice and relaxing.

I say walk because it really isn't that much and face facts- a lot people won't want to walk. They would rather take the boat or take a bus from the front of EPCOT. Many of us on here know the tricks but the average person doesn't. If it's raining, take the bus. If it is hot, hot- then take the boat. (We went on Easter week/weekend this year and it was boiling hot. I got burned on the walk back because I didn't think about the sunblock before we left. 96 degrees hot and no clouds make waynesgirl an unhappy camper.) But you will really get to see the decorations and if you want to be leisurely, you can stop in the BWI and see the decorations there as well.

It was about a 12 minute walk for my DH and I from the BWI to DHS because we cut through the back walkways and such. Lots of ducks and rabbits crossed the path while we walked and we strolled past a few people. We also waved at the boat coming from DHS and the small little motorized rental boats- the kids would probably like that.

If you leave from the International Gateway, go to the left towards BWI or it will take a lot longer.

It also depends on where in Epcot you are when you want to head over to DHS. If you are in WS, then the faster way is either the boat or walking. The boat goes from Epcot (International Gateway - between France and UK) to Boardwalk to Yacht/Beach to Swan/Dolphin to DHS. The trip takes about 30 minutes. Alternatively you can walk - it's about one mile.

If you're at the front of Epcot, then you can take a bus to DHS. The bus stop (at least in October) was one of the furthest ones out (near where the charter buses are) with little to no shade.

It's right about a mile from gate to gate. The time between the two depends (obviously) on your pace. Most people can walk a mile in 20 minutes, but if it takes you 40 minutes, you're walking quite slow and probably stopping quite a bit.

If you take the Boat after it leaves the International Gateway it will stop at the Boardwalk, Yacht Club/Beach Club, Swan/Dolphin before arriving at Hollywood Studios.

If it's not raining, I'd walk.

We often walk, & we beat the boat (without even trying), every time.

If you aren't in a hurry, I'd definitely take the boat/Ferry...Especially if its in the evening, you can enjoy the lights and scenery of the Epcot Resorts and the boardwalk.

Agreed! :thumbsup2

I wouldn't trust a thing this poster says...they're an LSU fan. They can't tell distance too well...;) :rotfl:

What a treat! I was following this post, as we will likely have to leave Epcot because of crowds during our anniversary trip next year, and may want to check out Hollywood Studios. We're not walkers, and will welcome the boat ride.

Just love the LSU heckling, especially about time.

Our son is a sophomore at the University of Alabama, and we live in New Orleans. We are having such fun with the possibility of a rematch in the coming weeks!

Sorry for derailing the thread, but had to put my two cents in as well.

Thanks so much for all the boat info. I am really looking forward to riding the boats as much as possible during our anniversary trip!
