I am planning my first trip to Disney for December probably in the first two weeks. My son is 11, is it worth it getting the park hopper and the water pass? Anyone know how the weather is in December?

Hi,

You should be aware that one of the water parks is always closed in December for refurb.

Also, December weather is complettely unpredictablke. You could have warm days (80s) with cool mornings. Or you could have mornings near freezing with afternoons in the 40s or 50s. Or you could have little of both, or something in between.

To sum it up: when you go to WDW in the winter months, you should not count on being able to swim, but you shouldn't rule it out either.

The above being said....if the weather is good and you have a chance do the waterparks...do them (or at least one) they are a blast if you are a "water person"!

It depends upon where you are staying...if you're staying at the Beach Club, I would NOT get the waterparks option. We have never gone to a waterpark when staying at the Beach Club. For many people, their kids never want to leave Stormalong Bay to go to the parks.

If you are going to water parks (or Disney Quest) only once, then a separate ticket purchased at the entrance costs less than the Water Park Fun option.

You can still choose to visit one or both water park(s) on the same day as one theme park if you have water park fun on a non-hopping ticket.
