We have put in an offer on points a VB, but we will likely be spending most of our vacations at WDW (preferably BWV). What will our chances be of booking a 1 br villa at BWV in January for 1 wk, since we will only be able to book there 7 months out??
Also, could someone give me the scoop of Vero Beach?? We have 2 kids (5 and 4) would they like it???
If everything closes ok, we should get our first points in Oct 07, would we be able to book Jan 08 for one week at BWV, or will it be full by then??
Also, is there a number of villas that they hold back to sell off the rack??
Last time we went to WDW we stayed in a 1 br at BWV that we bought off the rack.
Thanks in advance for all of your help:)

That will be short notice for your Jan '08 ressie, but maybe something will be avail. at SSR or OKW- and you can waitlist. Which week in Jan. do you want? The last 2 weeks I think have more availability than the 1st 2 weeks, (some holiday visitors stay the 1st week, and I think the marathon is the 2nd week.)

For future stays if you want BWV in mid- late Jan., you have a decent chance doing day by day reservations exactly at the 7 month mark, from what I hear.

Rooms for cash through Disney at DVC resorts come from several sources.

1) Disney retains a small ownership at DVC esorts, if these room are not needed for maintenance switchouts they are made available to cash reservaton.

2) When a member trades out of DVC, to the Disney Collection, Buena Vista Trading, Concierge Collection or Adventures by Disney, a similar room based on those points is turned over to Disney to rent for cash to help offset the cost.

3) Developers Inventory acquired through ROFR and repos...these points can be used in several ways...sales promotion or they can be made available for cash

4) At 60 days, any DVC inventory not reserved on points is turned over to CRO...DVC can get these rooms back for point reservations IF they haven't already rented.

Just curious.....

If you plan to spend most of your time at WDW....
Why buy at VERO....their dues cost more....and
from what I have read here.....
Your dues will cost you more than saving some dollars
on purchase price?

I agree with the previous poster. The small savings in purchase price will actually cost you more in the long run with Vero's high dues. Unless you oplan to stay at Vero on a regular basis, I'd probably get an on-site contract for on-site stays.

DITTO dianeschlicht & alldiz...not to mention it being on the beach in "Hurricane Alley". V & HH are priced cheaper....for a reason.;)

If you don't plan on spending at least half your time at VB, you really should be purchasing points at a WDW resort.
