Hoping the Rain Stays Away-We're Going Back in May-TR started

Hi Mary,
Stopped in to see your trip plans and say hello. Wish we were going the same time as all of you. Congrats on the new house, it's really nice. Your girls are growing up too, they are so adorable! Love the real tree, haven't had one in years. They smell so nice don't they? Looking forward to hearing more of your trip plans.

Nichole

Hi Nichole
:welcome: I wish you guys were coming too. Thanks, we are getting settled in. So are yours, Especially Thomas. The tree does smeel good and Jeff's aunt just sent us a wreath.
Beah Club-looks so nice. We are considering DVC there.

As many of you know, my mom passed away this summer. She had a chromic illness-COPD but it was only her 2nd hospitalization. I miss her evryday. The girls talk about her all the time. Today Cayley said "I wish G'ma could get butterfly wings and come whoosh back down to see us" I told her that she does see us she said " I know silly, she is looking down from Heaven with Jesus" I decided to do a homemade photo card this year.My friend Lisa designed it. Turned out really nice. Part tribute, part cute kids. Yes it has our last name on it, if you come to Az and break into my house wearing a HD LGMH I will prosecute.....

Thinking of you Mary.. I am sure this will be a hard season and Christmas for you. Your card is very touching... and I am sure it makes your mom smile up in heaven.

Your Christmas card is so nice Mary. It made me a cry a little. I'm so sorry that your Mom won't be here in the flesh this year. I'm certain she is looking down on you all and smiling. Hang in there sis. :sad1:

The card looks great! I absolutely love how your girls are brown hair/brown eyed and blonde hair/blue eyed! So cute!

Okay, maybe it's because I'm up too late, but your card and story made me cry as well. The card is just so sweet, Mary. The girls are so cute with all their Little People stuff..we have the nativity as well, and Piper loves it.

Great card! I love the big picture of the girls with their toys all lined up. So cute! :lovestruc

Yep, your mom is up there smiling and happy and so proud of the girl she raised into the fine woman you are. I know this will be a difficult time for you as you celebrate and grieve all at once. I know that will be coming for my family someday, as well, and they have talked about how different and empty it will be when that time comes. But they know I want them to just push a little extra to make things brighter than ever and know that I'm going to be looking down and joining them in spirit.

Maybe you could come up with a fun new tradition to do in her memory - something that would brighten someone's day in her honor. Friends of mine who lost their daughter (young twenties, in a car wreck as she was on her way to a mission trip) receive a monetary gift from me at Christmas to do something for someone in Emmy's memory. However they choose to use it to brighten someone's holiday is their choice. I think it's a way of allowing Emmy to still be a part of making a Merry Christmas for someone. :)

There will be a day when there will be no more parting nor sadness, and what a day of rejoicing that will be! :)

Know that your friends at home and here on the DIS are thinking of you in a very special way as you go through the weeks ahead. We will laugh with you or cry with you or just sit around with you and tell you how amazing you are and how precious your girls are...just as long as you need us.

Have a wonderful Saturday!

I love the Christmas card, so cute. That was very sweet that you included pics of your mom on there with the kids :sad1:. Makes this time of year a bit sad doesn't it? Anyway would be great if you were able to get DVC at Beach Club. My BFF owns at Saratoga but always stay there and loves it.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Your card is precious. Your girls are beautiful as always and it's a great tribute to your mom. I also got teary eyed just reading it and seeing the pictures. She will always live on in you and your children.

Thanks so much Laura, I appreciate you continuing to read my report. It is a bittersweet time of year.

Thanks, it took me awhile to come up with the wording. No tears over there. She is always with us.

Thanks, yep they look pretty darn different. His and hers. Avery looks and acts like my Hubby, Cayley is my mini me.

You all are very sweet. I like the way it turned out. They love that Little People stuff-we only take it out at Christmas.

Thanks, that was the impromto pic. I really appreciate your words. They mean a lot. I like the idea of a new tradition. When we lived in Ca my mom and I sed to go and buy stuff for the local homeless shelter each year. The girls and I usually get an angel off the tree at the mall. I have a friend who is struggling right now-helping her would be meaningful. Thanks for being there for me.

Thanks so much Nichole. I know it will be harder for you this year as well. I think staying anywhere at DIsney would be great!

Thank you, I appreciate your kind words. I am touched by all the support here. SHe does live on in them. Sometimes I think she is harassing me when they are especially naughty LOL
