I'm heading down to the world in December with my older brother..
He's never really been able to experience everything that Disney has to offer because he's only ever been there to march in parades as a member of the Pride of West Virginia Marching Band...

...I'm really wanting to show him that there is more to Disney than what he thought *He didn't even know Downtown Disney existed!* so I've bought tickets to Mickey's Christmas Party and we're staying in the park.. but I'd really, really like to give him a Disney Dining Experience, too!..

My problem, tho, is that I'm not that familiar with the dining options Disney has to offer and we're pretty different when it comes to eating..
I don't like seafood.. and I'm not a huge fan of beef.. I also don't like big portions because I can't eat it all and I hate to waste food...

He, on the other hand, could eat just about everything you could put in front of him and would gladly do so.. He also LOVES Surf'N'Turf dinners- and seeing as how you can't really get a quality Surf'N'Turf in Northern WV .. I was hoping to find a restaurant in Disney that served them..

Anyone have any ideas of a place we could go and BOTH enjoy a nice meal(preferably under $75) inside Disney World?

http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menus.htm have a look at the menus of the restaurants at WDW. this would be a good starting place to decide where to eat. do you want a park restaurant or a resort restaurant? y'all will have a great time at MVMCP and don't forget the candlelight processional performed nightly at epcot/world showcase. you can do a dinner package w/this or just atten the performance. makes a nice evening out. :earboy2:

I've gone through the menus but was hoping for some input from people who have actually eaten there..

that and I'm not having much luck finding a surf'n'turf

There is usually surf and turf at LeCellier as a special, it is just not on the regular menu. My mom and I had it in January and it was great. There are also other meals if you do not like seafood or steak.

I would try Boma. Lots of choices that should satisfy both of you. it also has a great location at the AKL. It is buffet, but the food is very good.

There are alot of other great choices for a TS meal, but the good ones will be over your price limit (Flying Fish, Citricos, CG, YS, AP, Jiko, etc.). Heck, I can spend almost $75 for just myself at some of these places.

Any TS meals within your price limit will most likely not match the quality at Boma.

Another option is to do lunch at the WS in Epcot. Here I would recomment Le Cellier or Chefs De France.

While I do love seafood, I can take or leave beef, and I eat like a bird. My husband is a carnavore and thinks a pound burger is just fine. Here are some of the places that are our favorites and why -

Le Cellier - good meat dishes. Nice atmosphere. Great bread sticks (he is one of the few that doesn't like the pretzel one). I get two appetizers - mussels and the wonderful cheddar cheese soup. The mussels wouldn't be for you but they have salads too. You don't have to have a full blown meal. Look at the appetizer selections too. They will serve them as your meal.

Cape May Buffet - yes, seafood but it's not the kind my husband likes. He still stuffs himself silly by eating the meat offerings and raiding the kids buffet as much as possible. My son thinks the salad bar is great.

Boma - hands down, one of the best places at Disney World. I watched as our vegetarian friend really enjoyed herself and my husband chowing down right beside her. The desserts are to die for. Do what I do and get at least one dessert with every trip to the buffet. Well worth it.

Sci Fi Dine In - again, the atmosphere. Your brother could get a burger or something and you can share an appetizer.

50s Prime Time Cafe - the atmosphere yet again. My husband loves the meatloaf here. Try the boursin cheese appetizer. There's also pot roast and fried chicken.

In my opinion, these places will show your brother that Disney World is a heck of a lot more than rides.

go to Flying Fish...at Boardwalk

The make an incredible NY Strip Steak that he can add seafood to and they also have some chicken choices for you!

GO EARLY!!!

Ask to be seated at the Chef's counter ....pererably between thew kitchen and bar...its a 2 seater there...PLENTY of chef interactions AND they give you some SAMPLES of things you haven't tried yet!

GO AND ENJOY!!!
