DD has had her snack cake stolen from her lunch box for the last 3 days. It’s happening during Horticulture. The kids leave their stuff in the classroom, and then head outside to work in the greenhouse. There’s really no realistic way to determine the thief.

DH came up with a plan. He created a paste of cayenne pepper and Sriracha sauce and injected a snack cake with the concoction. DD was gung ho about the idea last night, but was having second thoughts this morning. She was afraid of getting in trouble with the administration. DH said he would “take the heat” if it came to anything, which I really don’t think it would. BTW, DH teaches at the same school where DD attends.

Don’t know if she left the snack cake in her lunch box or threw it out, but I’m really hoping she left it. Guess I’ll find out this afternoon.

:rotfl2:LOVE it! Why would she get into trouble? She likes spicy sweet stuff:rolleyes1:angel:

I'm thinking the person would just need to bite into the cayenne to know something was way off. :crazy2: It's not the same as if DH put Visine or Exlax in the snack cake, which is undetectable while eating.

This is an awesome idea! I don't see how she can get in trouble for this. If she didn't force the thief to eat it.. maybe she wanted to make a fun little spicy treat for herself!

Let us know how it goes!

Seriously why would she get in trouble? What would the little klepto say? Oh Suzie rigged her snack cake that I stole.too bad there isn't a dye pack that could be used:rotfl2:

I LOVE IT. She could not possibly get in trouble, it is her cake and that is how she likes her food!

this is hilarious. I really hope that tomorrow, the snack cake is still in her lunchbox. Hmm... I wonder if its the teacher taking it if all the kids are out of the room?

The only thing better would have been some ex-lax mixed into the paste.

Brilliant! That's a great way to handle losers who don't bother to bring their own food and steal from others. They deserve whatever they get!

ooooh oooh ooooh....I like THIS idea! How about injecting the cake with lots of food colouring? Then your DD can look for the kid with a bright green mouth at lunch time ;)
