Hoping for some ADR advice...

I'll apologize now for being long winded.

We (Me, DW, DD(9), DS(6), DS(3) and DM are going 11/28 to 12/4. We are celebrating DD's b-day (11/29) with Cinderella's Happily-Ever-After Dinner (ADR confirmed) and DS(6)'s b-day (12/2) at Chef Mickey's (ADR Pending).

We are hoping to get ADRs for breakfast at CRT. This is mostly for my DS(3) and my DM. DS(3) when asked, says he wants to eat in "Mickey's Castle", but when you tell him the princesses will be there he says no. My mother hasn't been in over 25 years, so I thought it would be something she would really enjoy. Of course getting ADRs for CRT are next to impossible and though I'll keep trying, I'm not very optomistic.

I don't think my DS(3) will know if he doesn't get to eat in the Castle, and my mom will be content with being at WDW with he grandbabies.

So, I guess what I'm wondering is what would you do? how would you handle the near impossible task of ADRs at CRT?

I would quit worrying about it!!! You already have 2 very special ADR's made and that actually is 2 more than my kids ever got on our Disney trips. Too many special things takes away from the "specialness" of the ones you do.

You have 2 special things planned and that is enough and Grandma will enjoy those 2 and being with her grandchildren, so relax and enjoy the trip.

I say keep trying...there are often cancellations and that opens up possibilities! Also, consider going for lunch...the princesses are still there, the food is pretty good and boys receive swords (girls a magic wand!). I think it is worth the effort...it is a magical place to eat and the photo w/Cinderella makes a nice keepsake. Happy planing!

Have the princess breakfast at the Aukerhaus Castle in Epcot (Norway.) It's a delightful meal, you see 4 princesses, and the surroundings are gorgeous!!

And it's a much easier reservation to get!

(Oh, and the potato caserole was fabulous!)

I would also recommend the Storybook dining at Akerhaus in Norway. It is soooo much more relaxed. They rush you something silly at CRT!!! We did both this past week and the Norway meal blew away the CRT one. They did not rush us at all at Akerhaus and the princesses all spent more than 20 seconds at our table. We also got a great picture with Belle.

My 5yo dd liked this better than CRT and thought the dining room was much more "castle looking" than CRT. I would think it would be more so for boys ...definitely more interesting. The waiters are awesome. Also, at Akerhaus we got the salad bar. Oh, and dd could get french fries there where at CRT they adamantly did not offer french fries with a hot dog..only mashed potatoes.:confused3

In the future we will not bother with CRT.

There were actually 5 princesses at Norway...one to greet you and get the photo with (Belle) and during our lunch we had: Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Ariel in her gown. It was great! We had the same at CRT except Cinderella greeted and instead of Ariel it was Jasmine. Again, they all had a little more time at Norway.

During our entire time at the restaurant, a good half the tables were empty at any given time..which I found odd since there were a ton of people waiting!

You are close to that 90 day mark- so keep trying. CRT is not that difficult to book if you are flexible on your days, times and table count. Try looking for 2 tables instead of one large one. There are not as many large seating areas in the castle. Often they will be able to seat you together when you check in- but you just can't book it that way.
Also try for a later breakfast time.
Calling the dining line directly can often work out better than the online booking. The operator can try different ways to get it to work for you.
