Hi,

I just got my flight information and am really excited that we will be in Orlando just after noon on Friday. How far is Downtown Disney from the MCO Airport, and is it possible to either take a cab from the Airport or other means of transportation? I would like to avoid renting a car as I might want to have a drink and would not want to drive. I have purchased the transfers with Disney for our cruise on Saturday, but since we have time the day before, hey why not?

It is about a 30 minute ride,if traffic is not backed up.You can use Mears or a limo service such as Tiffany Town Car or YourRide.Here is the linkfor Mears and Tiffany.

You could expect to pay $40 or so in each direction if you took a taxi. I would expect that the price for a limo would be comperable. You could almost certainly save money by renting a car, but this is a personal decision of responsibility since you would like to have the option to drink.

I have been searching all options, and believe it or not, renting a car is nearly as expensive. The one day rate at all the major rental websites is $45.00 to $89.00 plus tax and all, it is up there. Then there's always the optional insurance, gas, tolls, hastle of parking etc. I wouldn't want to risk having a drink while there either with dinner and attempt to drive. I did find Mears vans which is $28.00 per person, but you can expect up to 2 hours wait.
