I just wanted to introduce myself, since I have been posting more on this board-and you're probably like who is this chick?!:lmao:

My name is Jennifer, I was married at the Wedding Pavilion October 21, 2002. We have returned to Disney every year since for our anniversary, with the exception of one year but I was pregnant so that's ok!:goodvibes
We have two boys-3 and 1-both are on the road to becoming Disney junkies!

I just love all things weddings so that's why I come to read about all the amazing things you ladies are planning! When I was planning, the boards didn't seem as well visited as they are now--I think in a past life I must have been a wedding planner...I am always watching the wedding shows on WE!

I had my little intimate wedding and reception at Yachtsman Steakhouse and an Illuminations Cruise and we loved every minute of it.

My DH teases me that I am a wedding junkie-I am I guess...everytime we are at Disney and we see brides I look and remember how happy I was and just wish that for the brides I see! Guess I am a big lame-o!

Anyway, I don't have much to offer planning wise, but I can offer an opinion here and there-that's about it!

Just thought I'd say hi...not a complete wedding stalker ;-)

:goodvibes Welcome back and pleased to meet you!

I am a MOB and having the most fun sharing all the pj's and tr's and gathering all kinds of great ideas for my princess's wedding!

Take Care!

That's not lame-o - that's very sweet! :goodvibes Welcome back to the boards (if this "old bride" can presume to bring out the welcome wagon :rotfl:). I know when I was planning, I really valued the input of brides who'd already been through the process and could offer insight.

But watch out - if you stick around here too long you're bound to catch vow-renewal fever :lmao:

Oh, so happy to see you here! My DH and I were married at Disney this Feb 9th and I simply can't seem to get off this thread :rotfl2:

Just trying to help others out and like to hear of new plans.

:goodvibes Hiiiiiiiiii!!! Do you have any pictures to share?? I'd love to see them!!! I hope you stay!

Hope no one minds the "old" bride...

Hey, 2002Disneybride, watch it with the "old" comment. There are quite a few of us "old" folks planning either weddings or vow renewals. We prefer to call ourselves "mature" or "wiser" brides. :lmao:

Seriously, get out those wedding photos, scan them in, and post them so we can see what your event looked like. Perhaps a few of us "oldies but goodies" vow renewal/wedding brides can steal a few ideas from you spring chickens. ;)

Thanks for the warm welcome!
I'll see if I can dig up some pictures...
Meant no harm with 'old'!

I think I'm the original "old" Disney bride... When we planned our wedding the only materials available were a Lifetime special and the folder they sent. No videos, DVDs or planning journals.

I still love wedding stuff too - DH and I are going to celebrate the 12th Anniversary of our Disney wedding this year!

Yeah. What Janet said! LOL!! Welcome back! Would love your input! :cutie: Looking forward to seeing you around and posting. Any wisdom you can share will be welcomed by all, including some of us not so young Disney "brides"! :goodvibes

I think that's really sweet. I LOVE having brides who have already "been there" to pass on info and ideas. :)

Welcome!!

Ahutton, I remember vacationing at the Grand Floridian many moons ago. I was staying in the Main Building of the resort (probably the only concierge building at the time -- that's how long ago I'm talking about), and I remember standing at the concierge desk and listening to two Cast Members discussing Disney weddings. One was male and I believe he not only worked for the Grand Floridian, but also worked in whatever the wedding organization was called at the time. The other Cast Member was female. I don't believe she worked in the wedding organization; she was simply a concierge Cast Member at the Grand Floridian. She appeared to be very excited about the information that was being relayed to her. It was cute watching the two of them talk. They were both quite animated.

This was before the Wedding Pavilion was built and thus before the Lifetime special that you mentioned. I remember being surprised that someone could hold a wedding in WDW. I hadn't heard of that before.

Sometime after that vacation, I sent for a packet of info on Disney weddings. My husband & I had watched the Wedding Pavilion being built and we thought it would be a fun place to renew our wedding vows. I also remember watching the Lifetime TV special and thinking how lucky that couple was.

I ~might~ still have my original wedding packet lying around here somewhere. If I can track it down in the near future, I will scan it in and post it, just as I did with the latest info that I had received from the FTW organizations in Disneyland and Walt Disney World (click here for that thread). It will be fun to compare and contrast how the FTW program has evolved over the years. Of course, viewing the pricing information will be painful. I shudder to think how those costs have increased over the years. ~Brrrrrr!~

Congratulations on your upcoming 12th anniversary! I hope you have a wonderful vacation in WDW.
