Is there any hope that I'll get into Ohana for 10/6? It's booked, but we're staying at Poly. I think it would be ridiculous for me to stay at a resort and not even be able to eat at the main restaurant there... *sigh* This system stresses me out. Is it worth walking up to them to see if there are spots on that day? Or am I better off to keep trying to book online?

This is so Troublesome- I am going to try to book the second week in October as we have never been there and wanted to try it for sure but it seems like you have to be royalty to get an reservation- Good luck - I guess keep trying but for those of you that have gotten a ressie I would be interested too- HOW??

I was able to book O'Hana for dinner online so I say keep trying. :thumbsup2

I booked dinner at Ohana for 10/6, online as soon as the system opened up at 6:00am on July 3rd, the beginning of my booking window. I actually had my pick of times over several days at that time.

I know it's frustrating when you can't get in where you want to eat, especially when you're on the DISboards and know the importance of calling early and still can't get in! I can only imagine how disappointing it is for the average Disney guest who doesn't plan ahead and thinks they can just show up where they want to eat.

I'd say not to give up! There are cancellations all the time. I love being able to make ADRs online, so I can check availabilities at my convenience.

GOOD LUCK!!

One of the deciding factors in choosing to stay at the Poly was proximity to Ohana. There were other factors, sure, but that was one of the things I remember on my "pro/con" resort list.
I tried at 5AM (central) online on my 90 day mark to get ressies for 3 different dates in a certain time window (4-6) and nothing. :( I've been checking everyday and still nothing. I got a reservation for Kona instead, and I did get Ohana for bfast, but I'm still going to try for the dinner. Just keep trying I guess, and good luck!
I think I did read somewhere on the disboards, that resort guests do have preference for last minute tables, can anyone confirm or debunk this? Thanks! :)

I'm sure that's how it works in theory and even in practice sometimes, but I got up at the same time the concierge desk at the CR opened four mornings in a row to try to get us into Chef Mickey's for a breakfast while we were staying there in May and we were never able to get an opening. We did eat dinner there on our first night so we didn't miss it entirely, but I really was hoping to sneak in there again and try to see the characters we hadn't seen there at the dinner.

I would keep trying every route (calling the dining line or checking online for cancellations) and not hope that it'll work out once you get there and get checked in as a resort guest. I think they try to get the resort guests into any last-minute openings at the restaurants at that resort if they can, but they can't create openings if there aren't any.

Best of luck to all of you trying to get your ADRs! :)

Keep trying. I got 'Ohana for 9/22 but not until 9:30 p.m. If you have 4 in your group, try for a party of 5. Reservations will then fix it for 4 for you. Or if you have 2 try 3.

Can you book a late dinner? It seems easier to book after 8 PM.

How many people are you? I just saw that there is a 6:55 for 5 people. Try grabbing it if you can.

**Edit** I just actually saw a bunch of ressies for that night for 5 people starting at 6:00 and getting later** And there is a ressie for 3 people but thats a little bit later.

Wow, I had no problems getting my reservations by going on-line at 6:01 am on my 90-day out mark.

Surprisingly, I got LeCellier on my first day (which maybe they released more reservations on the exact 90 day) but then for my timeframe the rest of my stay was unavailable.

I check in on Sept 25th (2 of us) ... got 'Ohana for 6:40 pm on 9/30 !!

Got all my times (between 6:00 & 7:00 pm) at all my restaurants.

Also got my DH's tee times at his preferred time and preferred courses! Now, I just have to wait until late Sept.

Holy crap, that worked! I got a 5:05 for 5 people. We're going to MNSSHP so 5 is perfect! But now what do I do with the fact that there are only 4 of us? And how the heck is that fair that 5 people can get a ressie that 4 can't!?!?? Do they not count my infant as one or something when they're looking for tables? I need a high chair spot anyway. I'm so confused... BUT THANK YOU!!!

If you have an infant in your group, they count as a person so it looks like you're all set:goodvibes

Well, I was actually using the infant in my original 4-some, so I didn't know if somehow they looked at her age, called it a party of 3 instead, and that was the issue?

Anyway, I still don't get how come I can get a ressie for 5 but not for 4. Does that make sense to anyone??

Do I need to do anything with this? I feel bad showing up with 4 people instead of 5, but if that's what I have to do to get my time I'm probably just gonna leave it...

I have seen it discussed on here many times that if you can't get your res, try for one more person and a lot of times it will work!!! I imagine the system is set up so that the exact number of people that fit at the table is what the table available to reserve. I consider that a glitch in the system, and I think it is perfectly acceptable to use that route if it works. After all, not your fault they had a table for 5, not 4, and you would certainly be seated if it was empty and they let you walk up! No need to do anything about the different # of people showing up. When they say, "Table for 5", just say, "There will be 4 of us". We have done this several times when not everyone was able to make it to the meal. It is NOT a problem at all!!

Congrats, I'm so glad you get to eat dinner at your home resort at a reasonable time!!! Aren't the DISboards great?!!! :thumbsup2
