Couple questions. We are planning on HDDR , we only have the 830 showing as an option for all the nights we can go, and cat 2 or 3. Will be 7 in our party. 4 adults, 17,18 and 7. Was thinking cat 3? Is cat 2 a lot better? Also, we will be driving from an off site resort. How much time should we allow for getting there once we get to FW. ? Appreciate your tips and experiences.

I think for the additional few dollars it’s worth doing category 2, but that’s just me. Disney recommends giving yourself 90 minutes. You can probably do it in 60 without a problem but give yourself more time than you think you need and you can always grab a drink from the nearby lounge and just chill out and enjoy the scenery.

Thanks 👍.

With a party of 7 I’d definitely do Cat 2. Cat 3 upstairs the tables are long and skinny so you’d be seated similar to a bar, hard to interact with your party that way.

They let you into the building right before showtime so you don’t need to be at the Ft 90 minutes early but definitely give yourself enough time for the internal bus/check in

Once you park at FW, go to the Outpost Bus Depot. You can take any internal FW bus (Purple, Yellow or Orange) to the Settlement Bus Depot. Get off of the bus at the Settlement and Pioneer Hall is a very short walk away, you'll see all of the other people waiting to go in too. I would give yourselves at least 45 minutes to get from the parking lot to the Settlement as you may have a short wait for the bus and the buses make several stops in the campground along the way.

fyi Cat 2 is not automatic main floor...they do have some Cat 2 upper but they are straight on view of the stage. Just beware.

Some of Category 2 is underneath the balcony, in the back of the main floor. Some of it is in the balcony, above that. In both locations you have a straight-on view of the stage, and the performers will visit your area. When DH and I were in Cat. 2, we were on ground floor under the balcony, and I remember it as feeling a little dark and closed-in to me, but we enjoyed it nonetheless and would sit there again.

I'm not sure when you're planning to go but once the MNSSHP begin it gets extremely crowded at the fort. The lines to get into the campground can be backed up all the way to the road and it is super difficult to find parking. It is definitely not like that at other times of the year. So many people get turned away because they don't have a reservation. The Halloween festivities that the campers do are only for the campers. You would need 90min if you go at this time of year. 60min for other times.
