My DH and I are trying to plan a trip to go to DL!!! I haven't been to DL in years (the last time I went was in 1995). My DH last went was in 2000. I use to go to DL all the time as a child (I've been about twenty times), but it's been a while since I've gone so I'm a bit rusty. We're planning to go during V-Day weekend (probably go to DL for one day most likely a Friday), and I'm trying to find some great deals with tickets and hotel. I was thinking about just going with AAA, but I'm be looking around online for some possible cheaper tickets or hotel cost. Plus, we're thinking about "dragging" my parents-in-law for a day at DL. If worst comes to worst situation we'll postpone the trip for March to go. But I want to be able to make reservations for our meals there. I was wondering if maybe a couple of you could assist me on if there are any special deals going on at DL or mayble a great hotel to stay at (that is priced reasonalble.)

Congratulations on your decision to go.

If you are able to keep your Valentine's Day date, I believe you will be rewarded with fewer crowds than if you choose March. Easter is the 27th and lots of spring breaks will be happening the whole month long.

Certainly booking with AAA is easy and they do offer some extra perks of doing it so this wouldn't be a "bad" way to go. If you book through one of the onsite hotels I know that you can include dining as an option if that's important to you but I doubt this is the "cheapest" way to go. The Howard Johnson and the Candy Cane are two of the hotels I notice most often recommended on these boards.

Since it's been a while since you've been there, I would recommend spending a minimum of two days if you can, gotta check out the California Adventure park!!
