When I go to the page on the Disney website it gives prices for "tickets" which I see includes the food. But, what if we are on the dining plan?? How does it work then? Am I using the dining plan only or am I using it along with "tickets" for the show? If it's just the dining plan, then what "category" will I be seated in?

ALSO, I noticed the "categories" for seating are 1,2 & 3. If you purchase category 1, for instance, is it first come first serve for seating within that category? In other words, If I get Category 1 and I don't arrive early enough, could I end up sitting way in the back and not seeing much but paying a higher price?

Thanks for any and all information. We really would like to see this show next time we go.:thumbsup2

If you want to use the Dining Plan, HDDR takes two TS credits and you can only get seats in Category 2 or 3 areas. I have heard that they do the actual table assignments just a couple of days before the show. You can get a good view of the show from anywhere in the room, but Category 1 seats are closer to the stage.

As Pokemon said, the HDDR is 2 TS credits on the DDP. You do not need any other "tickets". The food, show and beer, wine and sangria are all included.
The DDP is for Category 2 or 3 seating only. But the view is good from all parts of the room. The actors interact with guests throughout the hall, including in the balcony.
They ask you to be there 30 minutes in advance, but I agree seat assignments seem to be done in advance. They will not seat you if you are late.
We have always had seats front and center right at the stage (the now Category 1 seats). We loved these seats. I might actually consider paying OOP in the future to insure that I could get Category 1 seating. Just my preference.

Thanks so much for your responses!

I was just thinking that perhaps we could just pay out of pocket for that evening so that we could do Category 1. We will be celebrating our 14th wedding anniversary as well as DS's 4th birthday!:thumbsup2

We used the DDP for ours last time, and our seats were just fine. The entertainers walk around the room and even go upstairs to that dining level. We could see the stage just fine, too.

You can pay out of pocket. That's what we did. I was told that tables are assigned based upon party size and in order of when you placed your ADR. We just ADRed this morning for our Dec trip. I used our DVC 20% discount so we're limited to the 9:30 show. Hey, 20% is 20%. :lmao:

I hear ya!!:thumbsup2

I can't wait to see this show. Everyone on here keeps talking about how wonderful it is. I haven't read to many "specifics" about it because I want most of it to be a surprise. But, if almost EVERYONE on the Dis is talking about it, it MUST be good!:cool1:

It's definitely entertaining. This will be our 4th time.
