I have never been to the HDDR. I have a friend who told me how much fun it is. Can someone please explain it to me? We are going with a group of 16. The 8 kids range in ages from 9 to 14. Is this good for those ages?

Another thread mentioned the seating levels. Please explain those, too. Thanks!

It is a silly, slap-stick type, musical show that has a lot of audience participation. I thought the food was really good, and you can eat as much as you like. There is the main floor, and the balcony. The perfomers even came up on the balcony a couple of times. My kids were 7 and 9 last year when we were there, and they did like it. I think it is fun for all ages :)

I would agreed that it is fun for all ages. Food was good and the show was great. We just saw it in Aug and my DD will be 11 this month and loved the show as did my 4 yr old and hubby. It was great. We were on the main floor.

Hoop-Dee-Doo with 16 people -- wow. Big group! That would be excellent fun. There is a group participation quality to the show, so a large group would be neat.

The theme of HDD is an old west traveling stage show, reminiscent of Annie Oakley or Wild Bill Hickok times, as dinner theatre. Food is served family style (in buckets). Bread, salad, ribs and fried chicken with some sides, strawberry shortcake for dessert. The performers sing and dance, there's clapping and singing along, the performers go out into the audience and interact. Unlimited beer, wine or sangria, and non-alcohloic beverages. Very festive atmosphere...everyone is involved (or can just observe). Great singers, cute story, and live perfomance is fun. It is primarily comedy (slapstick as OPs noted), and it is funny and cute for all ages. Kids of all ages will like it.

With a group that size, 3rd tier seating might be tricky, but not impossible. The tables are one sided on 3rd tier (in the balcony) to face the stage. Anywhere on 1st or 2nd tier (on the floor) would work better with a large group.

Have a great trip!

We love the HDDR so much that our little tradition is to attend it on the first night of each trip to WDW. Therefore 2 weeks from today we will be attending the HDDR!!!:)
