Sorry for a lot of questions lately. We are going to HDDMR one of our nights and our youngest child will be 2 year and about 3 months at that time. For the most part he does decent when there is food around him but I'm a little worried about the length of having him sit for a whole show. He usually isn't too loud, but he can get restless at times.

Would he be distracting for others or would it be hard for other guests to hear him over the show? Also, have others gone with young kids and has the experience been alright? Will he bother the performers? Maybe skip it all together?

I've never been there with children that young but I doubt if anyone would mind. Should you have concerns that this child might impede others from enjoying their time there sit upstairs in tier 3 or at the back of tier 2. Either locale will allow you a quick exit to the outdoors.
HTH.

I wouldn't skip it. I believe you will be f ine, the entertainment involves,a lot of guest's participation. If you are concerned just bring a few special little toys. I have found at that age, kids enjoy all the interaction (lots for them to see).

As long as you are fine with removing yourself and him from the venue if he gets too restless than I say go for it! He'll probably enjoy the entertainment. The entire show runs about two hours.

We’ve done this show with infants and toddlers and it was great! They probably had no clue what was happening during the show lol, but it kept them entertained. The food and atmosphere here is pretty kid friendly. If you need to make an escape if someone gets fussy, that’s pretty easy to do here. I would give it a try.

We went a couple days before my son turned 2. He absolutely loved it! Sure, he didn't understand the jokes, but he laughed right along with everyone throughout the show. There were lots of little kids that stood up next to their chairs and danced at various parts through the show, so we let him too. At the end, they brought out washboards and spoons to most of the kids to bang on.

I really wouldn't worry too much. Let him stand up and dance near his chair if he's getting restless. They sing some songs and tell jokes and do a good job of keeping even most little ones entertained. As long as he's not being exceptionally loud (in which case of course take him outside for a minute), I doubt he would be disturbing anyone. It's a very family-friendly environment and some occasional (normal volume) toddler noises aren't likely to be disruptive here.

We went to the 6:15pm show a week ago with a large party, ages 2.5-76. Everyone had a ball. My kids were just watching some videos from our night and we’re all rolling on the floor laughing - such a fun evening.

Dining with children that young always has its challenges (especially at Disney where sleep schedules are often out of whack), but if you’re feeling up for it, I think this is a good venue to give it a try.

I've been to HDDR many times. It is a fast moving, rollicking, noisy show. I doubt anyone would even notice your toddler getting restless or loud unless he is so loud he can drown out the actors. Not likely. From what I've seen before, most kids are so distracted by all the happenings with the show, that they do just fine.

You know your child best. I took my DS to HDDR for the first time when he was 3 1/2. He wasn't disruptive, but he did have a hard time getting through the show. He much preferred running around on the playground next door and seeing the horses at the stable. I took him again when he was 9 and he absolutely LOVED it. The last time we went, there was a shrieking infant there and, yes, it was really disruptive and pulled focus from the show. It's distracting to the other guests and the performers. If you are ok with taking him out if he gets loud or bringing something for him to quietly play with so he doesn't distract others, go for it. He could do just fine as other PP's have pointed out. It's quite considerate of you to think about this prior to the show!

granted my grandkids at that age had already done many live shows but at 17 19 months both had a good time. lots of time for them to dance and move around close to table. it is not sit in a seat watch the show. there are places in the show where you could get up and move/walk around a little if you are on the main floor. main thing to remember he will not be the only child that age there as there are usually a lot of kids there

It’s a loud show with lots of movement and wandering around the seating area by performers, with lots of belly-laughs. Short a full on meltdown (which can happen), I don’t think anyone other than you will notice how your toddler is doing. And of course if there is a meltdown, you can easily step out because, well, nobody really sits still for this show.

This is NOTHING like Candlelight Processional or shows like that.
