We'd really like to do HDDR our next trip because I think my (will be) 9 year old would LOVE it... but I am worried about it being sensory overload for my (will be) 6 year old with autism. Would choosing to sit up in the balcony cut down on the chaos at all??

I say yes....with the view looking down, he can kind of keep track of things. We sat on the floor level last time and it was pretty chaotic. Great show....but there is alot going on.

I think it would be a good idea to sit upstairs. You could minimize the action around the child if you sit near the rail. I would also mention your preference for less "action" to the person checkinhg you in.

We love the HDD. Enjoy the show.

I agree with the other posters! The balcony is the best place to be in any case, imo because unless you REALLY want to be a part of the show itself, it's way easier to see all the action while being able to enjoy your meal a little more peacefully.

My DS is sensitive to noise and we sat in the upper level, center, and he loved it! He's still talking about it and wants to go back. It is really no more chaotic than any other TS restaurant. If he can handle Chef Mickey's, it should be no problem!
