I notice they have available seating for the 7 of us during our summer vacation. My question is do you think we should wait a few years till the grandsons are older? They are 1,2 and 5

1,2, and 5?
I think the 5 and 2 y/os will definitely enjoy the sounds, sights and food. The two year older might be apprehensive until s/he notes the others having a good time.
The one year older? I guess it depends on personality and sleeping habits.

My 7 yo and almost 2 yo loved the show and the food. Going now would give you the benefit of not having to pay for the two youngest, but they could still eat all they want. I was a little concerned about my toddler's attention span before going, but he was completely immersed in the experience. Several little kids stood up and danced by their tables throughout the show when we went and it wasn't obtrusive to anyone. They get the audience involved at a few points as well as get people to sing along, and bring around washboards for kids to make music on toward the end. I think they do a pretty good job at keeping all ages entertained, so I'd give it a shot if I were you.

They are used to long table service meals at Disney. Last year we we went to Disneyland with the 2 older ones and they sat every meal at TS for hours and really enjoyed it, especially the character meals. They have all kinds of food allergies as does my son and myself & my DH. Between the bunch of us the allergies are Shellfish, dairy, eggs, wheat, gluten, peanuts, barley, tree nuts & oats. The chefs are wonderful at Disney. We all carry epi pens, it's that serious. Disney is the only place we trust chefs to make a meal for all us! I'm not sure about my 1 yo grandson, he seems pretty happy all the time and it will be the 4pm show, so 3pm on his usual schedule in Texas. I'm thinking seriously of getting the tickets.

With that many allergies, I'm not sure what on the regular offerings would be safe. They do have an allergy menu with things like grilled chicken, salmon, grilled veggies, and pasta (though I would imagine that probably has gluten). I'm confident though that the chef will happily accommodate. I also have some allergies, and they offered to bring a chef by to prepare me something special, but the allergy menu worked for me. One thing to note though, is there is a big song and dance routine ALL about the strawberry shortcake dessert. I'm not sure what alternatives they can provide for dessert, but if any of the little ones can't have the strawberry shortcake but would be upset over a big song and dance routine where they see a big show of all the other tables getting it... Just throwing that out there. Some kids might not mind, but I wanted you to be aware of it. If you don't think that would be a problem, then go for it and have fun!

I *might* consider the 2 and 5-year old's, but I would not take a 1 year old. It's a long show, and it gets very loud as well.

My DS did not do well at HDDR when he was 3.5, but your two older GS's sound a little less antsy than my DS! He is now 10 and saw it twice last year - loved it! I think the nice thing about HDDR is the whole Ft. W experience is a lot of fun. You can visit the stables, the little ones can take pony rides, there is a playground next door, Chip and Dale's sing-a-long and even wagon rides. The show is a lot of fun and you are certainly the best judge on whether your little ones could sit through it. Just a word of caution - even the regular food isn't great, IMHO. Certainly not a foodie destination. And, though I'm sure they will accommodate your allergy needs, don't expect a gourmet meal!

I have been on trips to HDDR with grandkids from 14 years old to 4 months old and it was the littlest that we had problems with as she could not sit in highchair and they had no infant chairs someone had to hold all the time but we pasted her around the group. the 16 month old loved it and the 8 year old fell sleep in the middle of show. the others loved it. it is an every trip thing for us as we love it that much
