I have dinner reservations for Hoop Dee Doo Review for next Saturday and this will be my first time. We are planning on driving to the Review. Any suggestions on how early to arrive before the show? Is parking close to the restaurant? Any other tips would be helpful.

I would arrive at Ft Wilderness parking lot 45 minutes prior to show time, You will have to take a bus to the back of the campground.
Have fun! This is a first night tradition in our family.:cool1:

Yes, parking is very far away. If you don't know your way around the roads of WDW, I'd even allow extra time to make sure you can find the lot, get parked and on a bus to Settlement/Pioneer Hall.

Thanks Robo,
I am familiar with a lot of WDW back roads but I have not been in this area before. I will heed you advice and leave POFQ around 6pm since ressies are at 7:15pm.

If you are going to allow that much time, anyway, why not just take the MK bus from your resort and then ride over to FtW on the boat from the MK dock?

After the Hoop, there will be special buses at the Settlement stop to take you back to
your resort.

ALSO... there will be a horse-drawn wagon ride available after the Hoop lets out.
Under $10 per guest. Kind of fun, too.
It boards right next to Pioneer Hall.
Ride takes about an hour.

Give yourself some time.. You will need a bus after you park your car. I did this last August. I was surprised how far it was. Not only that, it is a little walk to get to the Review after you get off your bus. I did this last AUgust, and after we got out, it was like a monsoon coming down. We were soaked by the time we got to the bus. Talk about a wet tshirt contest :goodvibes . The AC on the bus did NOT feel good after being that wet! But enjoy, the HDDR is great, and even getting soaked had us remembering it and laughing!:rotfl:

Thanks again, Robo. I will consider the bus option. The horse drawn wagon ride sounds like it would be fun.

:rotfl: :rotfl: I hear you about getting drenched in a WDW monsoon. Years ago, I was watching Illuminations and get caught in a 1 hour long down pour. We were soaked head to toe and eventually had to throw out our shoes since two days after the rain they were still damp.

Thanks for the advice.

We went this past week -- they (Disney) tell you to be at Pioneer Hall 30 minutes before showtime. In this 30 minutes they check you in (find you on a list) and take a picture that you have the option of purchasing later. We took Disney transportation from the Beach Club -- bus to MK, boat to Fort Wilderness. We left around 3:15 and got there around 4:10 (your milage may vary). I did the check in at 4:30 and skipped the photo because we weren't going to buy it anyway -- took about 5 minutes. Then we waited 25 minutes for them to open the doors (doors open promptly at the scheduled show time -- ours being 5:00). So give yourself plenty of time to get there, but I don't see being there a full 30 minutes early as a necessity. They do have a nice playground right there as well as a petting zoo and the "trading post", so there are some things to keep you occupied if you do show up well in advance. Our kids played on that playground for a good 30+ minutes. :)

If you are coming from POFQ, driving your own car is easy and probably the fastest route. When you exit POFQ, turn right, go to the traffic light and turn left, go just past the golf course and turn right into the HDDR lot of FW, the drive should be about 5/10min max. Once you have parked, walk to the bus depot, near the kennel and horse barn. Board ANY internal bus to Settlement(orange, yellow or purple, it doesn't really matter). You can have a wait for an internal bus, but the wait and ride should be less than 20min total. The walk from the bus stop to HDDR is not long at all(no longer than the walk from most any hotel bus stop to a resturaunt, it's just all outside). At the end of the show go back to the bus stop and board any internal OUTPOST bus to get back to the parking lot, leave the lot and turn left, go to the light, turn right go to POFQ entrance.

Thanks for the route:thumbsup2 . I will check it out on Google maps.

This is what I was going to say - PO and FW are very very close to one another. I'd say it's about a 3 minute drive, 5 minutes if you happen to hit the stop light as it's turning red.

I will probably get flamed for this, but what *I* would do is drive to the Wilderness Lodge and take the boat from there to FW. It will take about the same amount of time as waiting for the bus, but the WL is so beautiful this time of year that I think it's worth the trip.

I think ROBO hit it right on. We went SSR to MK and took the boat....... kids loved it. We got there early because the buses were early and the boat too....... so my kids played horseshoes in front and we all just sat and relaxed and planed for the next day. After..... the buses are right there to take you home.

Thanks to everyone for all the information.
Can anyone tell me at what time does the Review usually end?

Just under a 2 hour show (approx. 1h and 45m) including the breaks for dining.
