Hoop Dee Doo Review: 4:00 or 6:15?

I would opt for the 4:00 show and treat that as your afternoon break rather than a pool/resort one. You could even head over to Fort Wilderness a little bit earlier and just relax while you're waiting (nice porches with rocking chairs are there) if you wanted to build in a bit more rest time. Then you'll be good to go to get back to MK for HEA, which would be my choice for the last night of a trip.

Fireworks, medium priority: I would choose to have a park break at the Poly and then go to the 6:15 HDDR show, which lasts about 2 hours. Fireworks on March 13th are scheduled for 9:00. I'd boat over to the Contemporary to watch the fireworks. I know that this particular show is best when watched near the castle, but I HATE fireworks crowds and I LOVE a mid-day park break.

Fireworks, high priority: 4 pm show, for sure. I know it would cancel the break but this is the only way you have time for HDDR and an in-park view of the fireworks without rushing.

I would do the 4:00 show in your situation and then watch fireworks from the Poly if your inlaws are tired or in park if they are up for it... or maybe they are up for splitting up? You could take the boat back to MK, put them on the monorail back to the poly and head into the park yourself.

Agree with maybe going over early and just relaxing too. I would not put in the overhead of traveling to and from poly in the middle of it all.

I might have misunderstood you, OP, but have you booked it yet? It sounds like you haven't, at 3 weeks out?
I have been trying for 3 years to book this show and it was always booked up.
Finally, at l80 days out, I booked it for our trip in less than 2 weeks. I considered us fortunate to get any time at all!
I hope you have success in booking this 3 weeks out. We can't wait to finally experience it.

Good point. I'm with you and aren't 100% sure if the OP already has it booked or not. I just did a quick search and it looks like the 4 PM show does still have seats available for a party of 6, but the 6:15 show does not.

Wow, I'm just surprised there is any time left this close. I usually go to WDW in first of November or 2nd week of December and it is a more popular time than FEb or March, I think. So maybe that's why I have never been able to snag a reservation before. This is our first time in March, so maybe that's why?

Just checked, all 3 times are free and all categories are open

4:00 PM show and we booked ours the day of (category 2). We stayed in a cabin and had a golf cart, but I could see a backlog getting the boat to MK.

So if we get back logged can you see the fireworks from the FW dock? If we are enroute on the boat can you see them? Lastly... does the boat go directly from FW to MK or does it make stops? Thank you.

You can see the higher fireworks from the beach at FW (and they pump the music there from the show). You should be able to see them en-route, but really once you pass the Contemporary Resort, you'd likely get a better view. The boat from FW goes directly to MK (at least the last time we went and can't imagine it's changed).

If it was me, I'd be ready to leave just as the show is about to end and go directly to the dock.

Ok guys, I just booked the 4:00. It was just easier to head straight there from MK and be done by 6:00. That way the grand-parents could go back to the resort if tired and we can head back to MK with the kids for the evening festivities
