Does anyone know if you can request a table "on the main floor" for the HDDMR? I asked when I made PS, but the CM told me that "they (at dining reservations) couldn't take care of that." Does your time of arrival have a factor (1st come, 1st serve??)?

We were at WDW over T/giving last year, and scheduled a HDDMR "Thanksgiving dinner." We were in the balcony section. My DS, 7, was hanging over/through the railings to watch, he enjoyed the show so much! (not literally--figure of speech, you understand--as we wouldn't let him do anything dangerous).

We're (just DS & I this trip) going again, mid-May, and have scheduled PS again for HDDMR. I would just love to be able to sit closer to the action)

My understanding is that the sooner you book, the better your table is.

I've asked this question to CM's a few times and have been told different things. Some CM's have said that seating depends on when you book and other CM's have said that seating isn't assigned until that day and to get there a little early to ensure you get a table you'll be happy with.

2 years ago we went to the Hoop Dee Do and loved it
(of course) I had made the ressies almost a year in advance and we were at one of the tables that are right up next to the stage and no we didnt arrive for the show particularly early. I actually think I would have preferred a row back, but my DD6 got lots of attention from the performers, they kept aking her why she was wearing a tablecloth because her little outfit was red and white checks just like the tablecloths there.

We were just there Friday night...I had booked our PS 60 days in advance and I also mentioned it was my husband's birthday. When we picked up our tickets, it already had a table number on it (#13). And we arrived for the 9:30 show, a CM told us, there was no need to line up at the door, because the tables were already assigned. It turns out table #13 was front and center!!! We had a great time! I highly suggest booking as early as possible and if it's a special occasion, tell the person booking your PS!

If they won't assign you a table when you book, then do not buy the tickets. I was assigned a table when I bought my tickets the last time. You are the one that is paying.

I think it is by when the ressie is made and by how big the party is. The front and center table I believe is for 2 people only.

CaseyJr,
As others have said, your table location depends on when you reserve you tickets, and your group size. I didn't call that far ahead, a month or two I think, and we ended up on table 25, front row far right side just behind the piano. I originally asked about Easter but it was sold out at the time so we ended up going Friday, 7:15pm show. I also asked how many tables remained to make sure I didn't get the balcony. I believe the more tables left when you reserve the date, the more likely you will be on the floor.

We reserved a few months ahead of time (not even close to the 2 year mark that a lot of people do) and we got front row seats over near the piano. We were so thrilled!! We went in March and we probably booked around November/December. We thought for sure they were walking us to a stairway to go up to the balcony so when they said "here is your table" we were so excited!! We were only a party of 4 so I don't know if that helped or not. Hope you get good seats!! Enjoy. Have some strawberry shortcake for us!!:Pinkbounc

Last April I booked this two months in advance and we were assigned the second table behind the piano, pretty good table and right near the action. This year I booked in October and we are going mid August. I asked the cm if we would have a table in the balcony or on the floor, and she told me I could request to be on the main floor. I really don't think she knew what she was talking about (but I had it put on the ressie anyway). I always thought it depended on party size and how far in advance you book.
