Hoop Dee Doo question

Hi there,

I haven't booked my resort yet. I'm trying real hard to be patient and wait for the free dining deal to be announced. But... my 180 days hits this coming week - March 17 to be exact. So question if I want to book Hoop Dee Doo for Sept 17 do I need to give a card to just guarantee or will they charge my card for the entire amount now? When I've booked in the past I've already had a reservation in place and only needed a card to hold the signature/2 credit meals. TIA

Without the DDP, I believe they charge your card now.

They charge your card upon booking. I just made an ADR for Hoop-Dee-Doo on Friday and am not on the dining plan.

Your credit card will be charged the full amount when you book this week because you do not have a resort package with a dining plan. Once you book the dining plan you can call and have your credit card refunded or wait until you pick up the Hoop De Doo tickets and have your card refunded at that time.

Actually you will have to give credit card info for all dining reservations - not just the signature and 2 credit meals.

Thanks for all the responses. I might end up waiting until I have my package booked then. We've never booked HDDMR before - does it fill up quickly? Will it be okay if I wait another 6 weeks or so to book eight Category 2 seats?

Your table location within each seating category for HDD is based on when you make your reservation.

You can book Category 1 seats at the 8:30 show only or Category 2 and 3 at all shows.

How fast does the good seats go? Like should I book HDDR first before my other ADRs? I'm trying to figure out if getting a good Cat 1 seat needs like a BOG strategy of right at ADR open.

You can't book category 1 on the dining plan (I think unless you choose the last show of the night). If you book it and then pay later with the dining plan I think you'll be downgraded.

I booked ours last week and they now fully charge for any dinner show and CRT up front. If you add the dining plan later you can use your credits and the charge will be refunded. I believe there were 4 or maybe 5 you paid for upfront. I booked category 2 at HDDR and for 2 adults and 2 kids the charge was around $220 and CRT was $212 I believe.

I've heard your seating is assigned based on when you book, and the category you select. So we booked as soon as it was bookable and chose category 1. I'm hoping we will have good seats!

I'm booking my package tonight for a last-minute trip on May7th. I will have DxDP. We decided to try HDR this trip. I checked, and HDR is booked for category 1 for all the showings, so I need to choose between category 2 and 3. Being that I'm only making ressies 1-2 weeks ahead of time, which category would be better for good seats?? I was thinking category 3 to have a chance to be closer to the stage, but with booking so late maybe category 2 would be better?? I've always liked side views at concerts to physically be closer to the action.

We had category 3 seats and it was a good view. The seats are on the balcony and run the length of the rail. The seats swivel so you can watch the show then turn around to eat. The tables are long and everyone seats along the rail. I would book them again. But we paid out of pocket for them.
