Hoop Dee Doo or the Lua- Which one would you pick?

I dont even know if I can get either of them at this point for September, but we would like to go to one.

Can you tell me the pros and cons of each? THANK YOU!!!

I have never dined at the Hoop De Doo, but we are going to this December. allears.net has a review sheet there. I enjoyed the atmosphere at the Spirit of Aloha and the old Polyenisian Luau. It is a beautiful setting at a beautiful resort. We went both times in December and it can sometimes get cold...so cold that your food will get cold quickly.

I'v done both and I liked the HoopDeeDoo better. The Luau is nice but my ds7 was bored until the fire dancer (I don't know what you call them) came out. That was definetly the best part. The HoopDeeDoo was funny and corney, we were laughing most of the time and the food was good as well.

We love Hoop Dee Doo! My family didn't like the Luau. The food was just ok and my boys thought the show was "lame". (they did like the fire dancer) We've been to Hoop Dee Doo several times and always have thoroughly enjoyed it.

I'd have to agree with you. The food at the luau is not the best and the show is okay. The HDDR is a lot more fun.

Never been to the Lua, but been to the Hoop De Doo 9 times so obviously we think it's great!

The Luau food was okay and the show, well, less than okay. Frankly, after the first couple of dances, they all started to look the same until the fire guy came on. He was terrific. Now, HDDR was an interactive show that entertained from start to finish and the food was good. Hands down, I'd go to HDDR.

We've done both and love the HDDR more. The food and show were much better at the HDDR than the Luau. We did enjoy the Luau, but the HDDR food was better in our opinion and more entertaining. We laughed the entire time.

We've done both and like both, but prefer HDDR! The food was much better at HDDR and the show was very entertaining! The food was pretty good at the Luau, but thought the show was a little boring overall!

We have done both and love HDDR!! You will be laughing the whole time. It doesn't matter where you sit either. When we went two years ago, we only booked a few days before and we were on the 2nd floor, but right to the side of the stage! They still came upstairs and sang and talked to us! The food is great! You can't go wrong!!

I've done both a couple times and we like the Hoop Dee Do better. It's especially better if you have children because the performers sing and dance and make it a lively atmosphere. Don't get me wrong, the Luau is awesome, we just prefer the Hoop Dee Do better. As far as food goes, I liked the Hoop Dee Do better as well. My DW loved the Hoop Dee Do much more because of two things.... The warm cornbread they serve to kick things off and the phenominal strawberry shortcake!!!

Honestly though, you can't go wrong with either.
