Hoop Dee Doo or Mickey's BBQ

What time of the year are you going? I ask only because the BBQ does not have AC. If you like to interact with the charactors then the BBQ if you want to relax indoors and be entertained the HDDR.

Which of those would you choose with 2 boys, 9 and 18 ?

Definitely HDDR. The 9 year old especially will LOVE the HDDR. You can get the character interaction elsewhere, but you can't get the HDDR experience anywhere else.

I had not participated in the HHDR in over a decade but recently took my mother-in-law for the first time. The kids around me were having a blast!
They were actually eating the food, too.

I really think it is comparing apples to oranges. Both are great, but it depends on what you are looking for. My DD 2 and DS 7 loved the BBQ. What they loved was the getting to dance with the characters. It is "VERY" laid back and it really isn't to entertain you. It is just a great chance for the kids to get a type of interaction with the characters that you don't get at the other Character meals. The HDD is a dinner show. I really think that the BBQ suits younger children better. With your children's ages, I would think that the HDD is probably the better choice. We are going to Disney is Aug and will be going to the HDD now that kids are older. Hope you have a great time whichever you choose
