So am I...I just booked "Hoop" 2 nights ago.

I initially had Hoop booked but my it didn't seem "Disney" enough for me, so I changed it to Mickey's BBQ because it has Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip & Dale and that's what my sons wants. I hope I've made the right choice!!

As an adult who has been to both... Take the kids to the BBQ. It is so interactive and so much fun. I love HDDR but if I was a kid I would want to dance and run around and that's what happens at the BBQ. As an adult I will not be going back to the BBQ until I decide to have kids and they are old enough to play.

So enjoy the BBQ.

Oh and btw they serve mostly the same food at both places except dessert. The BBQ has Disney Ice Cream treats.

Can you do the BBQ with the dining plan? I'm sure if you can it's 2 table credits, but I wasn't sure if it was included in the DDP or not.

Food is basically the same at both--depends on your kiddos!

I heard that BBQ is first come first serve, and when we went to Hoop Dee Do Review we could confirm in advance category 1,2,or 3? Can anyone confirm this??? Also, on AllEARS.net it says you can make ADR for Mickey's BBQ 365 days in advance but on Disney.com it says 180 days ??? Anyone know which is true???

HDD is indoors w/o characters and seating is based on the time you called. BBQ is outdoors w/ characters and seating is first come, first serve. We have done both. My DH prefers the HDD b/c he doesn't want to wait in line for food. I prefer the BBQ b/c it's more fun and it has the characters. The food is very similar but the dessert only has strawberry shortcake with HDD has ice cream, watermelon, etc. It will depend on what your mood is. Either one is fun......Enjoy!

We are doing the BBQ without kids (we have done Hoop Dee Doo without kids too and loved it)

I already called and asked about it for when i go and they said that you can only call 180 days before. Hope that helps.
