Hoop Dee Doo or Backyard BBQ

Looking for some reviews or opinions on these please, we would like to try one of these on our next trip but are unsure which one to go to. We will have both DD10 and DD2. Any suggestions or opinions much appreciated.

HDDR, in my opinion, is better than Mickey's Backyard BBQ. I have a toddler too and even he had more fun at HDDR. MBBQ was a bit too chaotic for all of us.

I haven't done Backyard BBQ but I have heard bad reviews. We went to HDDR last year (son just turned 5--and not one to sit still long) and we loved it. Very corny jokes, but a great show. The food wasn't bad either.

I vote for HDDR also. Have done both, one with an 11 year old, and the HDDR was much more fun, and the food is better also...JMHO

Restaurant Board I think the experts here can give you some solid information.I've been to both with our grandson's 6 yo and 10yo we all enjoyed the HDDR better than Mickey's Backyard BBQ.The food was pretty much the same but enjoyed show better than that offered at BBQ.

The food is pretty much the same in my opinion, chicken, ribs -- prepared in the same kitchen but yummy strawberry shortcake at HHD, cake at BBQ. At Mickey's BBQ there are characters in western gear, roping, line-dancing lessons, and dancing. At HDD food is brought to your indoor table, and a troop does a show based on very corny humor. At BBQ, you get your own food from buffet service and sit at long rows of picnic tables in a covered pavillion. We have enjoyed each. The BBQ is about $10 cheaper per adult.

Definitly the HOOP-DE-DOO!!
Our family: DW, DH, DD8,DS6, GMA, GPA all absolutly LOVED it! Hands down one of the best nights of the trip. And our daughter got to ring the dinner bell to start off the fun. Another tip: they ask if anyone's having a B-day or anniversary, you can raise your hand and acknowledge a special anniversary of your own! We did for our 10th anniversary (in May). It was cute!
