I was just able to make reservations. I was told by a CM last week that it was confirmed that they were closing for refurb. Just wanted to let anyone know that is NOT true. They will be open 10/1 - 12/31.

Thank you! We have been planning on going this Dec. It has been at LEAST 20 years since I have been to HDDR and I am really looking forward to it! yeeeehaw!

There was also this blip on the DIS about HDDR changing their hours starting in October. Hope they stay open during the holiday time.

Basically the shows will be earlier in the evening.

They tested these earlier times a few months ago so I guess they work.

We have ressie for 12/01 @ 6:15. We are so excited because we thought it would be closed as well! Can't wait now!

Yes there was a lot of rumors out there - that is why I did call myself and I was told "No HDDR is not closing. It was all a rumor. We are now taking reservations." I was able to make a ressie for Nov.2 - that is my 26th anniversary. Will be with our son and his girlfriend, who has never been.

According to the cast member that I talked to, there are NO plans to close for any refurbishing.

Thanks for this very timely update... DW called in Saturday and made our reservation for November 23rd. We're good to go.

Now with that said... I hope this experience is everything everyone has indicated it would be. We (the family) have never been. Based on recomendations on this board I've pushed the family pretty hard to get them to go.

Right now I'm the hero for putting this vacation together. If the HDDR is less than well received, I could easily go from being the hero to the goat!

I truly think you and your family will enjoy it. I have gone 6-7 times previously years ago but for the past 4 years in a row I have gone - this will be five. We really get a hoot out of it. Even though we know what is going to happen, we still crack up.

When I called to make my Dec ADR's last weekend I was told it was closed and went with the Aloha thing which gets canceled on us b/c of weather every year. DD is looking forward to fire dancer but I would rather have a sure thing. OHHHHH I'm sooooo confused.. this on top of waiting for info on BOG is driving me insane

I have followed the chatter over on the DIS Dining Board and it sounds like the issue is that HDDR isn't always available at the 180-day mark for ADR's. It sounds like it takes something inside of that before ADR's become available.

So allielew, you might want to monitor the situation.

I agree with this. Last 2 years reservations over Halloween were not available
at the 180 day mark. I was getting nervous about it this year with all the chatter of them closing for refurb. Should have remembered...
